sullen. making my first trip to the rock tonight since october '08 when the flyers snapped their 0-3-3 start to the season with a rare road drubbing of the devils. even with no elias tonight, 9x out of 10, they come away with nothing in north jersey.

What's the deal with Matt Read? He was supposed to play in the next game after he was injured.

All of a sudden a week + later he's not even practicing. This wreaks of a Flyers announcement that he will be undergoing some sort of surgery and will be out indefinitely.

exactly.

To answer your question about Noebels, Germany didn't qualify.
- PLindbergh31

Neither did Denmark, so Lauridsen stays with the Phantoms.

There had to be some Bias in the decision. Like it was probaly a boarderline call, and when it came down to it, Giroux snubbed the "retreat" weekend. If Giroux either doesn't have that poor start to the season, or goes to that retreat, then I think he makes it.

Nash and Carter have been injured a good amount this year. Neither one of them have any business on the team.

Good point on the Lauridsen thing. For some reason I thought he was Austrian.

I enjoyed going to the draft up there. Not a bad arena. Very Handicap Friendly. Nice Bar across the street. Forget what its called.

I have never quit a job without having another lined up. I'm actually working on this though. Switching back to my natural profession.. teaching.

But I'm not doing it in Delaware. I'm going to save up for about a year and a half and move to St.Augustine Florida.

had he not hurt his hand, he would have been there, and likely would have had a faster start to the season. it's a terrible decision in my opinion, especially when you consider shoot outs are part of this tournament. imho, it's a blessing in disguise. i hate NHL participation in the olympics. hate it. i'd rather have our captain resting and motivated.

I really don't like that Giroux was omitted, but I think that Nash may be on the team because he's been such a good soldier for Canada in the past. Carter is a weird pick to me.

I really hope that the fact that Giroux skipped the olympic famil due to injury did not weigh in on him not making it.

And that they are putting Stamkos on, just in case he miraculously recovers enough muscle mass by then. They'd better be careful with his supplements. (Not suggesting he'd cheat, but there's plenty of evidence that innocence of intent does not protect you from testing dirty.)

IMO he could have shown up and just not participated in one ice activities. I lot of people were upset about that. Looks like some of the decision makers were too.

For me it makes it that much easier to root against Canada. I love rooting for the fins for some reason besides USA
- Just5

Finns rock. The jr game Sunday was awesome. And if you think Russia Finland is a rivalry, believe me the Finns are very darned happy to beat the Swedes in Sweden. Take that former overlords.
