the good thing about him, he was real
he cared about the local teams, and the people
so many fake mayors out there today - homiedclown
Totally disagree. He cared about S. Buffalo while the rest of the city fell apart. City streets never saw a plow all winter. That 6 pack comment could have gone for all winter. Sedita was the best mayor ever.

he should get 2-3. he completely deserves it, blatant head shot.
I just don't understand how that hit in the winter classic only resulted in a $10,000 fine. I hate the NHL and its double-standards. - mehetmet
to be fair I believe Lupul intended for the shoulder pads and with Eaves dropping his shoulder and the cross check glancing off the shoulder pad.
I know the hit is not nice looking but I don't see the intent. IMO
P.S. I could care less if Lupul ever played. |

He did show his bias to South Buffalo. But he also oversaw the building of Pilot Field. The school system wasn't failing either. |

I'd love to agree with you on Sedita but he sold out on his own people, and for nothing when he essentially bulldozed the lower west side in the name of "progress". |

You know what, though, Ferraro had a good point. If you watch the way the Finns played with their trap style, I'm not sure it would matter. The ice outside the hashmarks is often referred to as "useless" ice by players and coaches. As long as you can keep players outside the hashmarks, it's essentially the same game. The international ice surface is only wider, not longer. (200 x 100 versus 200 x 85). - buffalofan19
He may have a good point with team that play the trap, but I still think regardless of style, the talent would be able to shine more with more ice.
I just feel everything is so big now (player and equipment) that it is so cramped. |

Griffin also didn't have 4th generation crack parents, he only had 1st generation crack parents of kids in the schools.
But I digress from the political talk.
Anyone got a backyard ice rink at their place. |

They are all politicians . The longer in office . The more they forget that they are there to serve the voters and not the special interests that finance them . That is why we need term limits in every level of government.

We have a failing school system because of the influx of Burmese (mostly) immigrants. There are 50 different languages right now in Buffalo. Anyone would fail a test if they can't speak the language. They are about to change all of that, finally.

The bigger ice surface comes into play more on the power play. More room to pass and move the puck. The headshots would probably drop a bit too with more ice to work with. |

My Dad had to put me out the kitchen window to shovel out the back door to get out of the house. The outdoor rink we had that year had snow bleachers, snow boards (lost alot of pucks that way) and snow benches. We were also sledding off the roof of the house. Great times if you were a kid. - Pope of Pucks
I was 3 years old during that blizzard and I remember sledding off of the roof of our house. |

I agree, I don't think Lupul was intentional, nonetheless he cross checked a guy in the head, and knocked him out for the rest of the game.
Myers intentionally checked Zubrus, though maybe not intentionally head shot. He went down, but didn't miss a shift.
Based on what the NHL does (though I don't agree that it should), injury (or in this case lack of) should factor in the decision. |

I can't disagree more. A bush-league act is the same no matter who it's on or the result, they SHOULD all be called the same, though obviously they aren't |

*My last political comment I swear*
The elephant in the room with education and standardized testing is its a socio-economic issue. No one wants to say it but follow the money and so go the test scores. Look them up online, the scores follow the hierarchy if income in WNY. Your top scoring places are Orchard Park, Clarence, followed by Williamsville and humburg, below them is Ken-ton, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, and at the bottom is Lakawana and Buffalo. Like clockwork. |
