I'm delusional?

C'mon, get real........Kane is not worth a top 6 player, good prospect and a 1st. Would you pay that high of a premium for Pacioretty? I'm a huge Patches fan but would not pay that. If Pacioretty isn't worth that ransom then Kane certainly is not.

He might be worth Eller and a 2nd if the Habs brass is ready to give up on Eller which I doubt they are. You totally over-value Kane.

lol its not just in america… Canadian with an "a" is the english spelling, canadien with an "e" is the french spelling thus the reason the french speaking habs fans will spell it with an "e" and english speaking people will spell it with an "a." Little language lesson for you guys

Well seeing as how Canadiens is the team name it doesn't really matter which language a hockey fan speaks does it? Google Montreal Canadians and see what you come up with.

I realize that, it was more to differentiate the two. The team was also named by french speakers so…

As a Sabres fan... I can only hope for Patty Lafontaine to part with what it would take to create a first line consisting of Nazem Kadri centering for Evander Kane and Emerson Etem. The energy, feistiness, offensive capability and attitude (quite frankly) would be great if that trio were to be united for the next 8-10 years in Buffalo.

Evander would likely cost the most, as the Jets are not going to part with him for pocket change. Toronto probably wouldn't deal with the Sabres, but if they were willing to send back Canadian fan favorite Cody Hodgson in a straight up deal... they just might jump at that opportunity. Etem has been in Boudreau's doghouse for his poor start to this season, so I'm sure he's no longer untouchable... but still not someone they'll just give away either. The Sabres do have the draft picks and prospects to pull something like this off... closer to the deadline, preferably, so they can still have a shot at drafting Reinhart!

I heard the Canucks are going after Cammalleri to play with the Sedin sisters. Cammy would soon be a 40 goal man if that were true.

And who exactly would the flames want that the canucks have and are willing to give up?

Would love that but Kane is under contract and Stastny is going to enter free agency...so no chance of that.

Plus Statsny is going to get a contract he doesn't deserve and there's no way Winnipeg could afford to take it on.

How come the predators aren't in this conversation? Kane would be the offense that we've always needed and we have plenty of personnel we could trade in return for him

I agree with you 100%. I like Buff but we need help up front. I've said it before, ship him into edmonton for Yaks, solves 2 problems for 2 of my top teams. Edmonton gets a defender that they need, winnipeg gets a young (i believe future superstar in the right conditions that winnipeg can offer) forward.
I know Philly has been linked to Buff as well. I'd love to see Brendan Schenn in winnipeg and I'd be ok seeing buff go to philly as well.
What I believe we need is some front end help, possibly a true first liner but I don't see buff bringing that type of return.

- Myron1982

I don't think Edmonton needs a defence man like Byfuglien...he's a bonafide weapon offensively, but the Oilers leaky D would not benefit from having him

Rather have Bogosian, if it were a deal with the Jets.

lol I know that, it was more just because he said the american way was with an a not an e, I realize the official team name is always with an e.
