I could see that. St. Louis and Anaheim are both deep in net.

You guys dont want Halak. Once he's done in STL hes prolly done.

His confidence cant be very high playing behind such a terrible defensive squad.

We are a mess on the back end. I was listening to Rob Brown, one of the local hockey commentators on the radio last night and he was estimating that the team might end up with as many as 10 new players in the off-season because of the losses due to free agency and the players MacT will be trying to dump before the deadline. This last off-season he signed all these defenders and I thought, "Oh man, this year is going to be so good. We have so many d-men we can't lose!" I have never been more wrong in my life. Apparently you can sign a dozen crappy defenders who would be 8 through 12 on a normal NHL team's blue line depth chart, but because of the rules you can't have nearly that many on the ice at any given moment in time. Who knew?

Halak is a decent goalie. But he cant stay healthy. With as bad as the Oilers need a goalie. Your better off getting better defensively and riding Duby. Just my opinion. Let another team overpay for the dude. He isnt worth it. If a team on the rise is going to let him go. It says something about him.

What about Scrivens? Do you see the Kings letting him walk now that Martin Jones has arrived?

If he isnt traded. I think he walks for Jones to get his shot as a back up. But Scrivens still isnt your answer. If EDM overall doesnt start to learn you have to play defense. It wont matter whos in net. Atleast Scrivens will be cheaper.

I honestly believe you guys need to trade Yakupov. Move him before his value gets ruined. He isnt a player to play in a system thats going to work with Eakins. The rest of the Kids work offensively. Hes the guy IMO to get moved for help. Along with Hemmer and Gagner.

If Trevor Timmins in his 12 years with Montreal is such a great scouting director, as many Habs fans will tell you, how come Montreal has more Useless players than any other team in the league?? I would get rid of Briere, Desharmsus, Gionta, Bourque, White, Moen, Parros Boullion , and Diaz for a bag of pucks..

I'm not gonna say that I think Bieksa, Edler or Corrado or Hamhuis are better than Phaneuf, or that I would rather have any of them before Dion, because I wouldn't.

If I had to have either teams top 6 I would take Vancouvers, hands down.

Meh, don't worry about it. This kind of crap has been going on for years.

Schroeder better than Kadri.

Corrado on the Olympic team! (Can't crack the NHL).

luongo and Schneider two of the beat three goalies in the world. Oops. One gets traded. "He had anxiety". Now its lack and luongo.... Two of the beat three goalies in the world.

Hodgson best prospect in the world.... Ooops. Must be Horvat. "Yeah we know hes not top 6, championships aren't built around players like Pat Kane, they're built around guys like Manny Malhotra".

Hamhuis better than Phaneuf..... Yeah. Let's just throw this one in the pile......

Yes you can.
- Jeropotato

No you can't. If a player is on the IR you can't move them at all. That means trades, waivers, whatever, you can't move them until they are reactivated off the IR.

Well, you could perhaps look at it like we are going to develop him and trade him when his value is higher. Nobody is ready to give up on him yet.

Nope. You can make a trade, just can't demote or buy out.

It isnt so much about giving up on him. Yakupov will never work in a system like Eakins. Hes a good coach. He would net you a good return in a trade. EDM cant have a new coach every year. It would be hard to find coach's willing to coach the team.

Nope. We are going to let the coach mold Yak. Yak really wasn't much better last year, He had a great April. He has to learn the 200ft game. He sinks or swims.

Im sure that will go well. Eakins really seems like a fan of Yak.

In all seriousness, its the right move I think to hold onto him and let him develop that game. Right now his value is at the lowest and he could be a great player if he developed that aspect of his game.
