Probably not going to happen, but I'd love to see the following deal:

Steve Ott, Ville Leino and Christian Ehrhoff to the Rangers for Brad Richards, Ryan Callahan and Michael Del Zotto. Ehrhoff's best days were running the PP for AV in Vancouver. Ott would help replace the grit and leadership of Callahan, who may be going home to Buffalo as an overpriced UFA in the offseason anyways. Buffalo is going to be willing to pay through the nose for FAs, just to get to the cap floor... let alone toward the limit... and Pegula is not afraid to overpay, especially for a local product. Leino's contract is the lesser (significantly) of the 2 evils in comparison to Richards' deal. Financially (if nothing else), it would make sense for the Rangers while significantly upgrading their blueline.

Brad Richards NMC nixes that deal. Nice try though.

Pens 1st for Matt done
- Dudestar

It's going to take a lot more to get MOulson then just a first. Pens first and a one of the top prospects. He'll get what CGY would've got in return from Boston last year. A 1st is an absolute joke.

would a Kris Letang for Evander Kane trade make sense for anyone? I know it would for the Penguins, not sure what Winnipeg's situation is like.
- SuperHenderson13

One dimensional? Have you ever watched Moulson play? Guys a great defensive and offensive forward. One of the best all around guys in the league.

Any way Montreal could get Both Moulson and Ott, have to give up maybe Eller and it would be nice if the Habs could ship Gionta out as well..Throw in Diaz and it could happen.
- jillann

Ya take Eller out and replace him with Subban then you got yourself something to negotiate.

Heard Briere + Diaz + 2nd for Ott and Moulson. Would be great i agree, but still highly doubt it will happen
- Frank0721

Great for who? MTL? That's the only one that'd gain anything from this deal. We get a 2nd round and a has been along with a never was. Ya great deal....

If shero gives up another 1st, Im going to quit watching hockey and watch the Pirates.....especially if he gives up a 1st for Moulson!
- joescullz

Moulson is worth a 10-15 1st round pick and your crying about giving up maybe the 30th overall pick lol

So 2 30 year old UFAs for a 19 year old star on the rise only 1 season removed from being selected 3rd over all. Youre Drunk Get out of here
- DDM-Coga

Your the drunk one. Go take another hit of coke with that drink. Ott and Moulson are two of the very best in the league in what they do. Ott's one of the best all around forwards and pests in the league and will be huge come playoff time. Moulson is one of the very best scorers in the league. Only 10 players have scored more goals then Moulson since 2010-2011 I believe. You obviously do not know hockey so take a hike bucko.

I see moulson getting moved for a 1st if it's to a bubble playoff team and if it's to a real contender than it would probably be a 1st and a mid level prospect. I can't imagine ott being moved. I bet buffalo looks to resign him. 3-5 years 4 million a year. No team wants Leino. I can't see buffalo not buying him out. I wonder if buffalo trades stafford at deadline.

I too like ott and moulson but galchynuk is in his ELC and is young and good. Moulson and ott are rentals that would test the market. Not worth it for Montreal imo

Even if u are right about Ott & Moulson, they're both free agents after this season...
There's just no way Montreal would trade is a future star in Galchenyuk for that
U want Galchenyuk?
The cost would be more like Myers or Ehrhoff + Ennis or Grigorenko
They'd prob throw in Briere, who they want gone anyways as well
Which I'd actually do
I love the idea of us getting Galchenyuk
That's a high price, but you're gonna have to blow them away with an offer to get him

yea if that's the case, Shero laughs and then hangs up.

CGY didn't get any of our top 15 let alone one of our top prospects.

You aren't getting Galchenyuk, he's the future #1 centre that Montreal has been waiting for seemingly forever. Not happening, especially in the division...

I think someone is wearing some wonderful rose coloured glasses when it comes to the value of some of their players..and that's putting it nicely

Moulson is much more versatile than you think, and a better player overall.
The problem is he is going to want and likely get $6M per for at least 4-5 years on his next deal.
On top of that, I have no idea what Buffalo would be looking for from Pitt as Buffalo has a ton of young D and is in dire need of quality forwards.

- kingcong39

Look....I've watched every...literally every Sabres game this year...... The
Sabres would like to resign Moulson to a 6 year 35 million dollar contract/with incentives worth up to 10 million. Ott would need to be signed at 4 Million per season for 6 years with a 5-6 million dollar bonus/incentive.... These are both character guys....but the Sabres should sign Ott if they have the chance....

Nice to have vet players for the kids and all but the whole point of a rebuild is to trade players like Ott.

Are you nuts? Why would they move Neal? They need to add another top 6 or top 9 Fwd, not subtract one....
- Amanion

hes a nuck fan, he thinks Edler is worth a top line winger...their old blogger thought edler was worth a top 5 pick in the draft

Rangers would get fleeced in this trade

Richards - overpaid but still a top 6 center good for 55-66 points
Callahan - Valuable two way player, better than Ott
Dez Zotto - struggling, but still high potential

for

Leino - Negative value, probably the most overpaid in the league
Ott - Decent player, but more of a 3rd-4th liner.
Ehrhoff - overpaid, has never lived up to his contract since leaving Van.

Buffalo would have to add a lot for the Rangers to even consider this...Callahan is worth more than that package in my opinion
