If shero gives up another 1st, Im going to quit watching hockey and watch the Pirates.....especially if he gives up a 1st for Moulson!
- joescullz

It is going to cost a hell of a lot more than a mere #1 at 30 or there abouts for a perennial 30 goal scorer my friend. No way in hell Sabres make that move unless Shero swweetens the pot considerably.

And Moulson & Ott to Montreal? Galchenyuk starts the conversation..as an opener. So add to it from there, not some retred 35 year olds either..young solid A prospects.
Buffalo would like to hold onto both these guys to mentor all the young guns coming up in next 3 years

Maatta is completely untouchable and going nowhere. With that said, WPG would be insane to pass up Kane for Maatta straight up, if that was offerred.

when did we get a Gally type player in the Pommer deal?? Larsson is a boadrerline NHL player at this point and Hackett is a headcase.

Why would Buffalo want to move a guy like Moulston ? Him and Ott are the kinds of veterans you need on a young team. Im hoping they resign Moultson myself.
- buffalo 1

No offense to Buffalo, but idt Moulson wants to experience another rebuild

Nah, too much of a lazy Russian who couldn't spell D if he had it in his name! And Miller listed Edmonton on his do not trade to list.
I don't care if they trade Moulson and Ott or not...but I do recornize they do have value to a team wanting to take a run at The SC..like Pitt and others...so why give them away for has-been 35 - 40 year olds on Montreal like what was posted earlier. That was totally ridiculous as well...so I just reversed it. (but I would take Galchenyuk, love that kids fire, going to be a superstar!)
Everyone can relax now...I have a nice bottle of 1792 to taste...carry-on here!

Moulson is easily worth a 1st as a rental
The guy is a PP specialist and all he does it score

he probably is worth it, I just don't like the idea of trading a 1st 2 straight years, especially for a rental even though guys like Maatta and Pouliout have progressed ahead of schedule.

I know, can't be leave how bad Hackett has gone since last year. I really think Darcy had a deal in place to trade Millwr back then but it fell apart shortly after he made the deal with the Wild. I wonder if that was the alleged Washington deal at the deadline.

He says he likes it here in Buffalo and sees improvement in the team since the purge. Who knows, but at least they have a head start on the rest of the teams to sign him long term. I like the guy, goes to work in the dirty areas..something that Boyes can't bring himself to do...so, like Vanek, his value is pretty high to contenders who want to put themselves over the hump. That's why I hate the idea of trading for what will be a low draft pick...too much risk there.

Oh yea, it probably sucks not being able to replace Crosby, Malkin, Neal and Kunitz with strong forward prospects. Jerk.

and we don't really want to trade a #8 overall pick who is killing it at the WJC for a 30 year old winger who is a pending UFA.

if that's the price for moulson, count us out.

- SuperHenderson13

Teams that are already tantalizingly close give up more than this for quality pending FAs all the time, if it might push them over the top. The gold standard out West is tough to play against...gotta be ready come playoff time. (and I would poop my pants if this trade happened).

Brodeur us not retiring. He's going to sign as a UFA in July. Nothing about this guy says he's retiring.

guys, I don't want to be mean or anything... i'm not speculating, i'm telling you, we aren't trading Derrick Pouliot.

We have a lot of other d prospects who are lower than he is. Pouliot is a guy who this team feels could be ready to play in the NHL next year.

I like moulson, but if that is the price your team will ask for, expect Ray Shero to laugh and hang up.

and we have the best record against the west. i'm sorry, but moulson isn't worth it to pay that much of a price. there are cheaper alternatives out there that will get the job done.

it doesn't matter... Shero will pass on a Pittsburgh kid who plays all 3 forward positions and plays the PP and PK... only to take Joe Morrow and then a year later trade him to Dallas for Brendan fricking Morrow...

as you can see, i'm still a little bitter about us passing on Brandon Saad.
