I think this team is going to be a force in 2-3 years.
- Sabresfan88

I think the NYI will suck again next year too...
And I don't see us improving w the likely trade of Miller, and prob Moulson & Ott...
So over the next two drafts,
We should be able to add THREE guys picked in the top3
As long as we find a replacement for Miller,
We're well on our way to being a very competitive team for quite a while

Dags' first goal is a GWG.

haha, I just looked since I didn't see anything but the 3rd period, so I looked at the box score on yahoo to see who scored the first goal. Anyways, what's funny is they have Weber as the 3rd star.

Was that the case at the game, or I wonder if different entities choose their own.

If it's based on their performance on the ice zemgus should of been on there instead of weber. I didn't like webers hit at all nor did I like his play in the d zone. Zem played hard and put himself in great position all night.

Sabres goalie Ryan Miller might not be traded after all. The new Sabres GM could try to re-sign him, plus their asking price (three prospects and a first round pick) is too high.

In my opinion that asking price is too low. You need at least one starter thrown in there as well. I mean come on we have arguably one of the worlds best goaltenders.

We have an abundance of goalies that for the time being would not be a good starter. If enroth was a foot higher he would be perfect.

This of course is completely based on Millers willingness to stay, which I would rate at .8% likelyhood.

Money has a funny way of changing ones mind.

IMO, they offer him a 4 yr deal in the 9+ per range.

It would be too low if he was signed.... not many will give up a first for a UFA, unless it's conditional on him resigning. There are of course examples of this happening, but don't bank on it.

That being said, Miller is a guy who most teams would like to have on their roster

You have to think that if he agrees to be traded he has a reason for wanting to go to that team. That might make some teams want to give a little more.

I think that it has to come down to two or more teams deciding that they want him, and bringing up the price due to a bidding war...

There's no way he's signing a 4 year deal even at that price. It would expire at 37 years old, he wouldn't do that to himself. He's going to force a team to commit to at least some of his not so good years while getting his remaining best years. Plus dude is already rich. Losing has a funny way of changing ones mind.

They are starting to win more than the lose.

I'm not sure he plays past 4 yrs.

I'd say the Blues if they can fit him in... they're a true top goalie away from doing a LOT of damage

I still maintain Anahiem is the destination if he is moved. Hiller to Edmonton.
Fasth+ to Buffalo.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if they make him the highest paid player in the league.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/st...gGoalsAgainst/order/false

they are third in the NHL for GAA

third, not 13th

I never bought into that rumor

True, but they've also had the last two seasons where their guys were great during the season and then folded in the playoffs...

last year they lost to the defending cup champs and elliot allowed less then 2 goals per game

http://espn.go.com/nhl/te.../year/2013/st-louis-blues

year before they lost in the second rd to the king

http://espn.go.com/nhl/te.../year/2013/st-louis-blues

scoring was why the blues got early exits, not their net minders
they were 2 for 34 on the pp in the 2 series vs the kings, that is what gets you bounced
