Reshape the roster in the rebuild the right way, and he might have the right guys in the end to do it. - EnrothWeTrust

I have no doubt they want Nolan to succeed. In fact, I would hope so. Wanting him to succeed and his actual ability to succeed are two completely different things. I'm fully expecting him to be the coach next year. I also fully expect the Buffalo Sabres not to win a championship under his watch. I would love to be wrong. - buffalofan19
So you are under the belief that The Nolan decision will dictate the GM decision? Personally, I don't care who they pick, I don't believe the Sabres are winning the cup either way. 44 years of history is hard to ignore even if they were competitive and they are far from that. And Pegula has shown so little competence in running a reputation sports team. |

Put it this way. If they've narrowed their search down to two candidates, and all else is equal except one wants to hire his own guy and the other is willing to stick with Nolan, guess who wins. I think anyone who says he's willing to retain Nolan helps his chances in LaFontaine's eyes. |

Nope.
My logic and gut tells me you're a doochebag.
And I normally like everyone.

It's honestly embarrassing coming on here nowadays because of people like you who post on here. What a joke these forums have become over the past year or so because of non stop arguing and bickering. You mentioned earlier that you are what? 47 years old? The immaturity that comes out of your posts time after time are mind blowing. Grow up a little bit, and act your age. |

Well, my first thought was it was a major PR move. The season was a disaster under RR and firing Darcy and Rolston and hiring Lafontaine and Nolan excited the casual fans that didn't like the rebuild. They brought Nolan in as an interim that would help point some if these guys back in the right direction and get the attitude of the locker room straight (amazing John Scott didn't do that all by himself)
In the end they hired a smart guy in Lafontaine to help hire a GM and did Nolan a favor by giving him work and letting him showcase his coaching ability in case the new GM has no interest in him,all in perhaps the worst season in franchise history.
All and all they are "marketing" this rebuild quite well - sbroads24
They are marketing to angry frustrated season ticket holder and the rest of us who where on suicide watch. The people they really need to impress is potential free agents. We're jut about dead last on their radar right now. Then you have Matt Moulson expressing interest in staying and out come the trade rumors. If they can't turn that around this is all just circle jerk.
Edit: Horrible IPhone spelling. I hope you all understand. |

I have no doubts this team will win someday.
People want to jump on me when I say this but Darcy collected some talent before he was fired. A guy like Reinhart could really cement the talented youth we have for years to come. Just need a guy that can finish the job |

Your posts often come across like they are coming out of the mouth of a childish teenager. It's irritating coming on here trying to read discussions about the team and constantly hearing non stop arguing. Productive posts would be excellent. |

I could not agree more. If there is one thing Darcy did a great job of, he really stockpiled us with plenty of young talent, and a bunch of picks to ensure we grab a whole lot more young talent in the years to come. When people compare us to the Oilers, I can't help but disagree because we should be so far ahead of them at the beginning of our rebuild compared to ours. Fingers crossed we continue this tanking process and finally get rewarded for all of this suffering Sabres fans have endured this year by being able to select a kid like Reinhart. That would be huge for us. Michael Dal Colle is going to be a hell of a center as well. |

Everyone screamed to Fire Regier and Rolston . Tear it down start fresh . Now that it is being done . No one has the stomach for it . Sit back enjoy the tank . Don't think anyone is going to do us any favors and waive a 30 goal scorer . We will rebuild through the draft , trades ( needs to be trading partners ) and free agency ( worst way) . First step is to hire a GM and that is what Lafontaine is working on . I don't believe all the speculation that he is trying to force Ted Nolan on the new GM . If Ted is gone after this year I am sure Mr Pegula will compensate him for his short time here pinch hitting.

Our blue line looks pretty solid, we should get an elite level forward with hopefully a top 2 pick, however if/when we move Miller goaltending would be next on the list. I don't think Enroth is a full time starter |

Yea he does. I wonder if the Habs would trade him eventually.
Price has been excellent this year and he's still pretty young |

I still think they need an elite shutdown defenseman. Other than Zadorov, I still don't see who in thier system that can be. Myers doesn't really play that game. Pysyk won't be it, and I'm not convinced that's Ristolainen's game either. |

I don't think you understood my post. I get tanking. You're to quick to discredit the difficulty of the decisions. Just draft this, hire this, trade for that.
Bam, done. There's going to be a lot more growing pains than that. My point is they dug themselves a deeper hole with hiring Nolan. Do you think having a 4th coach in 12 months will make buffalo a hot free agent destination? The only way this works is if this guys has imeadiate success right out of the gate. |

If Reinhart is gone at number one, and we pick 2nd overall.. do you try and trade down a few spots and pick up Dal Colle? Or do you take EKblad even though we just took Zads and Risto last draft? I think Dal Colle is going to be a stud, but I can't say I wouldn't love to add Ekblad to our group of young d. Ekblad is going to be a beast. |

Fucale = Mark Visentin from 2011. Came in and played better than the original starter but not good enough to win big games. He's going to be good, but not great. |

I don't know, I have really supported Myers for a few years now. I really think he's been borderline dominant in his own end and will get better.
I can't think of a goal that's been a direct result of his play in a long time.
I also really, really like Ristolainen. |
