He's really small though. Canada has done a great job of not letting people shoot high on him. That is his weakness. - buffalofan19

Don't we have enough 4th line players? Seriously? - HonkFortheGoose
No. We're adding to the collection of plugs we already have. |

Is it being streamed anywhere? How great is it watching Reinhart and McDavid on the same line? Unreal. If only.... - thisisderrik
Great goal by Ristolainen. Zadorov is a stud.
Been a Pat LaFontaine fan since he was traded here. I'm concerned that his conversation with most GM candidates includes, "So what do you think of keeping Teddy Nolan?" |

There is no way that isn't coming up. But Pat is a smart guy and he's going to have a good barometer on if that's affecting talks. I don't think he is going to get selfish and force his ideas on people and not put the franchise first. I hope anyways. |

IMO it shouldn't come up at all. It should be looking for the best GM candidate and letting them make those decisions.

The question has to be asked. He's coaching the team now and we all know who put him there. The candidates themselves are likely asking and I doubt Pats response is "(frank) Ted" |

The reason the interim label is there is for if a new GM comes in, it doesn't look like he's "firing Nolan"
The issue of the coach being even requested to stay by Lafontaine could hurt them finding the best candidate, that's an example of micro-managing right off the bat. Could be a huge turn off.
This is all speculation that its even a sticking point for LaFontaine and Pegula |

The issue obviously would affect talks because he's sort of controversial figure. It has to be considered though because of the history with Nolan and the fact that the team has looked better and more respectable since he took over. Some percentage of the fans of Buffalo have an attachment to Nolan. So bringing a new guy in and axing Nolan makes for bad PR out of the gate. Pegula can ill afford anymore bad press. Hs run these fans through a gauntlet of poop since he took over. It's a tough situation. |

Bad PR or no bad PR, the GM and coach that is going to lead this team to a championship is someone the fans don't feel comfortable with. They're going to have to bring in the kinds of players this fanbase doesn't necessarily "identify" with, because those are the kinds of players that win championships. The one thing that's been apparent in this area for over three decades is that nobody here knows how to win. |

As you said . a speculation. We don't know either way if that the sticking point. I would be curious , if the new GM would keep Ted or not. Scared as to who really ends up as coach and GM. |

Yep all speculation. I just want the best GM that's out there.
Personally I am a Nolan fan, but the guy isn't a magician, if the best GM has a different idea for who should coach so be it. As long as we win.... |
