- jochfr

Were fans screaming like this to get rid of Peters ? Or was it because internet forums were not around to give them a soap box . I honestly do not remember .

They are becoming less common. The league is pushing them out.
- sbroads24

What they need to get rid of is the instigator rule .

Just some of his comments in his interview were cool and some
Of his poop on twitter. Said he grew up a half hour from the aud and it was a dream to play for the Sabres.

Got to love all the deliberate head shots to players knowing all they might get is a couple game vacation without pay. But the player they did it to is out indefinitely. Push them all out !!

No because enforcers cannot do their job. But fans that have not played or watched the game when enforcers could truly do their job do not appreciate this . Back in the Day No one would cheap shot Gretzky or they would deal with Dave Semenko . Now these cheap shot artists do not hesitate to take out a star player.

I heard that about his dream. Lets see what he brings . Sabres have a knack for bringing in a new guy and he scores his first game here.

Girgensons was not man handled . All clean checks His play is starting to get other teams attention . He powered through it and has too as part of his development . That is the type of player he is . He got hit in the same manner he has been hitting others . He handled it well for a 19 year old playing with men.

So John Scott's role on the team is to fight and stand up for his teammates, but only if they receive dirty hits?

No, I got it.

But what do enforcers do nowadays? If that head shot happens, all they do is fight the other teams enforcer. The guy who made the head shot is left off the hook.

It is the league that needs to be the enforcer.

I think he is there with the 4th line to give the 1-2 lines a breather. Reason we have 4 . You don't roll 4 lines your top lines have nothing left come 3rd period.

That's the key, just keep bringing in new guys every game. We'll use them for their 'Bernier' goals and the move on. Playoffs here we come!

How great was it post lockout (not last year) when the Sabres rolled four lines who all could score?

They mentioned before on the radio. Don't kick the guy who caused it out of the game . let him play another shift. Let the other team deal with him. Bet the cheap shots stop. No the way it is . You kill a guy and you get ejected . keep him in there to get his lumps.

Was awesome. The team would take 1-2 period off , get down by 2 and flip a switch. score 4 unanswered and win the game . Damn I miss those days .

Wait. Was that on the radio or was it that ref who blogs here now? I think I remember reading that. I don't listen to WGR at all anymore.

That is the problem , We need to take out the instigator rule . So players like Phil Kessel do not feel they can get away with taking the lumber to folks . Which he did again last week . No one here is a fan of those staged fights and even Ted Nolan told John Scott , he does not go for that . But fighting can still have a place in this great game. The league enforcing after the fact is not working , that is obvious by all the unnecessary injuries we are seeing.

YES! Exactly. In the 1999 cup run, the Sabres were down one and I could not stand it. It was over.

But 2005, you just knew they would score to come back and win the game.

Drury's goal against the Rangers in the playoffs did not excite me because I expected it to happen.

Instead you're now defending players like John Scott and arguing with people who want to get back to those days.
