Who they also ... no longer have.
Not to mention he's scored more goals in a month than Scott has in his career. - sbroads24
They have Bollig and Shaw now... It helps your scoring when play on a line with Toews..... |

He also has a pet rabbit, Hoppy, and maintains a Twitter account for his pet, who has relocated with him since 2006. Konopka told Fox Sports North that he never wanted a rabbit as a child, but a friend suggested one as Konopka is allergic to cats and dogs. "I can't help that I fell in love with the little guy ... the guy's pretty cool. He just chills around, has his litter box, does his business there and he's pretty soothing to come home to." - sambarugh
Awesome. Following Hoppy from here on out.

That's what I think a lot of fans are forgetting....that we're still on that plan. The GM just isn't blatantly telling the fans to deal with it and the coach realizes that if we're going to lose, we may as well make it entertaining most of the time. - seedy
I don't find myself entertained very much when John Scott is on the ice. |

Have you ever been "in the room"?
You are an accountant right?
And I am not ribbing on you at all , but that is what you are, correct?
You need leaders in and around just about anything in life.
Including leaders "in the room".
I played a ton of organized sports in my day and there was always that one team mate you always listened to whether it was in or out of the locker room.
Not sure accountants need leaders but in mostly everyone's everyday life they will encounter a leader and most will embrace them like a hooker in the back room of some smoke filled strip joint and will never want to see them go until their song is over. - BuffaloHardHat

Just like in life in hockey you have to change your attitude about things. This team needed to change its accountability for the Miller Lucic incident. Enter John Scott. This team was going through the motions under Reiger and Rolston enter Teddy and Patty. Its an evolving process. This team needed to become tougher to play against. It did on one side now they need to add top 6 guys that will go in the corners do the dirty work. It all filters down. John Scott being on this team is the least of this teams problems. It starts with guys like Leino, Ehrhoff, and Vanek. They took care of one. Those other two would be next in my book. Then you can look at getting rid of Scott if you want. This is exactly why I think Ott should be resigned. - Stripes77
Definitely.
We started addressing some needs while ignoring others. I feel like we made too many compromises, like not signing the right free agents for extra pushes. We addressed the toughness aspect but our goal scoring lacked. Now we have to piece in some goal scorers which are hard to come by. |

I know but Ott has been in the league longer than anyone on this team that takes a regular faceoff. He can voice his displeasure. The others have to earn that right. This coming from a ref. Trust me there are things we let upperclassmen get away with that a freshmen wouldn't dream of pulling. It's all apart of the relationships that are build on that rink. Between players of the same team, players of opposing teams, and players with the refs and linesmen. - Stripes77

Any prospective GM should know the league. He should know the players in the league and should know the plan he intends to follow to build a championship team. Whether the new GM is hired this week, or a week before the Trade Deadline, I see no reason why they couldn't do just as effective a job as if they had been employed all season. If a week before the deadline is too late to hire a particular GM, then Patty shouldn't hire that person as GM. Hire the one that is ready to step in day one and enact his plan. |

This entire process is just that its a process. Nothing is going to happen overnight. It is going to take at least another full season if not more for the culture to change, while our prospects are developing. It is a work in progress. |

I beg to differ.
A new GM will need to know every player pretty well here in Buffalo, Rochester and the rest of the system.
You don't just come in and start trading players of which you have no idea what their trade value is.
Even today is too late for a new GM to come in and get a valid grasp of what is really here and what we need now and further down the road. - BuffaloHardHat
If there is a GM candidate that does not know every team's roster in the NHL and their prospects, he should not be a GM.
There are plenty of guys from outside that could come in and know exactly what the organization has already. |

Eventually he isn't. Read the whole statement. You obviously just want to bash Scott and that's fine. But AFTER Chicago won the cup they went out and signed Scott. Care to explain that one to me please? - Stripes77
I'm not Scott "bashing". I'm bashing the idea that he is needed. It's false and cannot be proved, and if he is "needed" it doesn't translate onto the ice at all |

Sometimes but there is a time and place to show it. Plus it has to be the right guy showing it. A lowly 4th liner showing it does no good. But coming from a captain (there is usually debates about other faceoffs) officials tend to take notice a little more too |

Wow.. More crap about our 4th line . Some make it out that that's the reason our team is where it is . While the real reason is the Paid to play players.
