Kulemin makes $3 million this year.
He is going to want a raise.
Sorry, he just isn't worth that much.
He's gone. Maybe even at the trade deadline.
Your heart may love him, but you need to start listening to your head. - Atomic Wedgie
Kulemin won't have much more then 30 points this year, he can't ask for too much of a raise.
Sign him for 3.25 |

I think his current salary is what he'll sign for. Even on the open market. |

Why?
What role does he play?
You can get any stiff off the street for under $2 million to do the same thing. |

I'd gladly take Komarov back right now and sit Clarkson...seriously...how is Clarkson not getting benched? What happened to all the noise Leiweke made about changing the culture? Seems to be the same old...play a guy just because he has a big contract |

you clearly answered your own question.
All else fails, mgmt points to the fact he is in a new system with new linemates. That excuse is good for the 1st year of the contract. |

This, RC stands there and barks at Kadri, while Clarkson is doing poop all game in and and game out... Kadri at least gets 1 or 2 decent scoring chances a game. Would have had the game opener in the WC if not for Howard's right big toe. Did anyone see Clarkson get any shots on net? or have any decent hits where he didn't end up on his ass, or make a good back check to break up a play? |

So your solution to giving Clarkson too much money is to also give Kulemin too much money? |

To be fair, the Leafs are really good at overpaying for their players, so it would just fit club history. |

Was that before or after he hung a Bon Jovi banner in the ACC rafters, in hopes of currying favour with his best bud so that they can get an NFL team?
And was it before or after he forced the Leafs to trade for Troy Bodie, so his son-in-law could play in the NHL, instead of the AHL (where he belongs)? |

Trade Clarkson and you can resign Kulemin and sign Komarov and still save money.
3.25 mil is not too much money on someone who can put up 30 points on a third line and still has potential to do more given more ice time |
