The Wilson one was bad.
- Bieksa#3

I think it was the most dangerous one for sure.

The one that amazed me the most was Seidenberg on Ryan. How is that not reviewed?

I just don't know how you miss a high stick to the face, but you are right, fans of every team are complaining about this crap.

and didn't the refs miss one the other way also, late in the game?

It seems so fckuing bizarre I still don't understand how some of this crap doesn't get a hearing or a suspension.

Tom Wilson was inches away from what could have been a catastrophic injury to Schenn.

- Aetherial

i get and almost accept that things get missed during the game..... the refs dont have time or multiple video's at their fingertips....
shanahan on the other hand has days to figure it out with 10-30 different camera angles to help him.... yet he is more inconsistent than the refs are

You are probably right, 2 or 3.

If it was any other team, I would be surprised there is even a hearing. It just was not that hard, vicious, or pre-meditated. The fact that it is the Leafs, this year, makes it not a surprise.

I seriously wonder if there was not a conscious effort to scrutinize the Leafs very closely going into this season after the hard-nosed style they played last year.

... of course I have no idea how Boston gets a free pass. Everyone seems to just consider Boston to be *tough*. Seems like they play over the line a lot to me.

- Aetherial

See I think this is bull. I hate when canucks fabs whine about suspensions to our players and this is no different. It was a clear attempt at the head. Same as Kadris suspension.
In terms of teams getting special treatment, I think Boston is the only one. So many examples over the past 4 yrs to support that as well, not just one incident

Bruins got away with a lot back when they won the Cup in 11.. that entire finals series was crazy.
- YzermanIsTheMan

As much as I hate Vancouver more than anything, and I was cheering for Boston that series...

You are 100% right. They abused Vancouver all series and got away with it all series. The refs effectively took the cup away from the Canucks I think.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would suggest that the league would far rather have an East U.S. cup champ than a Canadian champ.

Ideally Gunnars a 5th defenseman at best.

When it gets to game 7 of the finals I doubt they care who wins. They've essentially squeezed every possible dollar at that point.

Its funny

Lucic on Miller
Marchand pretty much every game
Thornton(if he played for anybody else he gets 30 games)
Seidenberg(as u mentioned)
Chara(on a few occasions)

No idea how this continues to happen

this is when it suscks being a leafs player.... you know that anything questionable or close you are going to be suspended for GUARANTEED..
only leafs players are made as examples.

i didn't see if kindl's elbow actually made contact with lupul's head or not, but it sure looked like the intent was there and did he leave his feet? but - free pass
just like subban's slewfoot a month ago, or the dupuis slash that broke kelly's wrist, or nash's elbow, bissonette leaving the bench in pre-season....
all free passes, but a marginal crosscheck from a leafs player has 50 different media members calling for a suspension, just lovely.

Marchand getting away with throwing the water bottle on the ice last year in game 7 overtime. I know it isn't anything physical but that should have been a penalty.

Meh. Ranger got Holzer's spot. Komarov was a 4th liner that wanted to be paid like a 3rd liner. If he'll take a milly or so to play great but if he wants 2+ he's just not worth it.

- Pecafan Fan

yeah, I know.

Seriously though, it is getting a little fcking irritating that every borderline or cross the line hit by a Leafs player results in a hearing.

I honestly would like someone to point out where this has ever happened to a team before?

I guess the Leafs team isthe dirtiest team in history.

Also... I just don't think the Lupul hit was that bad. I think that crap happens all game by every team in the league.

As a Canucks fan, I'd agree that the refereeing seemed to favour the Bruins but that's not what cost them the series. They got outworked and manhandled during the losses. They lost confidence as soon as they were behind. Watching game 7 I thought to myself if the Canucks scored first, they had a chance. If they got behind, they were finished. They had a few chances early on with pucks hitting a couple of posts but as soon as Boston scored, it was over.

I wouldn't blame you. Since Bettman took over, there's been zero Canadian winners. Now, I don't think there's a conspiracy, but I wouldn't blame anyone to think that the NHL is heavily American favored these days.

Well, maybe lupul's crosscheck was "borderline".

But keep in mind, it was in front of the largest crowd ever assembled for an NHL game and the media were all over the event. Lupul could have hit him in the ribs and no one would have said a thing.

He decided to hit him straight in the head, on the biggest stage of this NHL season.

Conclusion: Lupul is stupid.

Yeah but why did they have to put up with getting "manhandled".

They got outworked, but Boston did not wear them down with good solid clean hits.

The Canucks were the best team in the NHL that year and if it wasn't for the retarded sudden change in refereeing that happens every playoffs they would have won.

Lupul definitely plays with an edge... but not a smart edge, like Chris Neil (one of the dirtiest players in the league). He plays with a stupid edge, like a Darcy Tucker.

I'm still baffled, the Canes played Liles with a PMD in Murphy and were a +2? Tell me again why Gardiner with Rielly as a pairing can't work?
