The reason why it won't happen is pretty simple.
It would make the habs a better team. So, forget it.

yup, and there is no reason for Buffalo to make that deal unless they have something against trading rentals at the deadline for a higher cost and they are interested in next years top draft pick aswell. |

i can see Buffalo trading for Briere but they're not giving up anything more than a 7th round pick or something of equal worthlessness. why not? good veteran presence for their young kids, worst case. best case? rediscovers his game and becomes a tradeable asset. |

what i find amazing about Briere is that most fans didn't think it would work. Therrien from day 1 didn't seem to have much use for him. it almost seems like there was zero consultation between Bergevin and Therrien on the signing. |

I'm pretty sure some fans must be saying that Bière isn't working out because he isn't used properly by Therrien.
To me, sitting him in the pressbox is the best use Therrien can do of Brière. |

Lecavalier's will do just like Briere...he signed with the Flyers...in a few years when they dump him to the curb, he'll sign with the habs...and we'll all (rightfully) hate him for it.
