Simmonds value to the team is very high. He snd hartnell are the only forwards thst go into the dirty areas. These are they types of platers you need come playoff time. I wouldnt move either unless im getting more than I give. Simmonds will score 25 -30 a year. Many of those will be from busted plays, rebounds and deflections. He may not be a "skill" player, but his skill is tough to come by. Although, I will say, it is painful at times to watch him carry the puck, it seems he fakes himsrlf out when he trys to be fsncy with it....hahaha

Like I told Schenn2whatever... I know what Power Forwards do. But IMO a top defenseman is MUCH harder to come by. If Simmonds and a piece and land you that top defenseman, you HAVE to do it. Not that Phaneuf is signed, what are the chances we end up with a good top defenseman next year? We lose Timonen and Meszaros. If I can trade Simmonds for PK or Yandle or Buff, with his value higher then the moon right now because he isnt in one of his Donald Brashear streaks.... I have to do it.

That's racist that you think its because they are black. The reason is, because when Simmonds goes cold... once he stops scoring, he cant handle the puck, he cant make passes. He just goes around, hits people and sometimes fights. I would say Simmonds is Dr. Jekly and Mr. Hyde. One day he plays the game like Bertuzzi in his prime, the next he plays like Donald Brashear.

I would trade him if I could. I would also trade Simmonds. I dont have a problem with Power Forwards, but both these guys are awful at handling the puck and passing the puck and are extremely streaky. And lets be honest, they aren't going to create their own goals. They rely more on other players. Much rather trade Hartnell for some draft picks, and use Simmonds while his value is above sky high in a package for a number 1 d-man.

Simmonds might be the best flyer at getting the puck across the blue line into the offensive zone. Most everyone else excels at turning it over in the neutral zone. Juss sayin'
