Its so funny because so many people hate on Jay Rosehill, and I thought the fourth line had one or two shifts last night where they were generating some scoring chances. This isn't me coming to the defense of Rosehill but what I believe I saw last night.

The Avs' 4th line wrecked shop in the Flyers' zone on a couple of occasions.

Our 4th line wasn't bad either.

Good hands like ville, doesn't have the vision, way more 2 way ability
- Just5

Leino had way better hands and vision than Raffl, more like Voracek without the speed. You'll get no argument from me on the defensive play. Raffl is better in that area hands down.

But he did get hit from behind. Are they trying to legislate those hits out of the league or not?

Look, I'm not trying to bury Landeskog or get him suspended (I wish we had him!). I don't think the hit rises to that, necessarily. I think his wallet should be a tad lighter today is all.

Again, that play happens 5 times a game. There's a difference between hitting a guy from behind and boarding. I have no problem with the hit, personally. Sucks that he got injured, but 99 times out of 100, it's just a routine check.

The Colorado Avalanche do have an impressive balance all through their lineup, they were very fun to watch.

I just meant constantly getting cranked. Leino got decked on a nightly basis.

There is a difference.

There is even a rule for hitting from behind:

Ville Leino was a very good playmaker and gifted offensively. He had his own game and played it well. He wasn't just some young kid trying to find his way when he got here. I still believe that he could have become something special but he did take a lot of bumps and bruises in his time in Philadelphia that created a pretty bad hip injury, and he never recovered. I still believe that he could have become great if he found the right situation like he had here.

I don't think the league is trying to remove that kind of hit, no.

Great display of goaltending on both ends except the ROR goal. Couturier with an uncharacteristic game for him.

Does anyone else think Hartnell is declining rapidly?

It actually looks like hartnell is breaking out of whatever funk hes been mired in. Points in last 7 or 8 games and is starting to get chippy.

43.1 Checking from Behind – A check from behind is a check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend himself, and contact is made on the back part of the body. When a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty shall be assessed.

To me, Raffl knew the hit was coming, he just didn't get tight enough. And no, I don't want hits like that taken out of the game.

Maybe it's his streakiness. Some games, I just shake my head at him.

With read and Raffl injuried I'd like to see VDV in there and call up McGinn. Sit Rosehill. Why play Rosehill over either of those guys? I don't dislike him like others on here, but I think VDV and McGinn are better for the team.

Hartnell is on a six game point streak, which is the only active one going. So many are on his case and assume he's not playing well. the only real issue with Scott Hartnell game is it's not pretty. So many believe I love Hartnell and have a crush on him. I'm just being objective.

You can't win them all, but I don't like the decision to play rosehill over vandevelde against one of the fastest teams in te league. Turn overs were a huge problem and not being able to finish. The flyers can't win every game but lack of speed against a speedy team also killed us. Mason played great and the flyers will bounce back.
- steveromanowski

According to the game stats the Flyers had 1 turnover to Colorado's 8

At most, MAYBE interference call on the play but if Raffl didnt get hurt no one would be talking about the play

I have to agree, our commentators last night were horrible. Its insulting to intelligent fans.

I had to listen to the Colorado station via center ice. They kept calling the flyers a big physical team.
