to be fair man he didnt say you wanted raffl to get hurt... only that seeing someone else on the top line was your wish

Raffl is on his second opportunity on the top line. Players like Read, Simmonds and Couturier haven't had a first. I never once said he was playing bad but I do feel we have enough firepower to upgrade the position.

I think people overlook that Giroux and Voracek were simply awful to start the season. Many blame Hartnell for their play and thank Raffl for their current rise of play. I think it's silly. By this logic, one would think 28 and 93 were bad players until Raffl got here.

regardless of how that top line ultimately shakes out, i think we can all agree that its nice to see Raffl looking like a viable NHL player now and hopefully in the future.

still a long way to go and the line combos are going to change alot due to a number of reasons.

We need our best players to be our best players. I haven't seen a balance throughout the line up yet.

Good: Simmonds and Hartnell are playing well which is nice to see, and Meszaros imo is playing better as well. Streit also seems to be playing better.

The bad: LeCavalier seems to be skating in quicksand. I thought the fourth line of Colorado was able to generate a lot of good momentum and create some chances. The Flyers fourth line, for the most part of this season has contributed poop. Not going into Rosehill, if the organization wants to just play a "warm body" b/c of some dumbass belief they need a goon, that's on them.

The ugly: What really was clear to me tonight was the lack of speed through the lineup, and on D. Colorado was able to skate the puck up quickly, and more often than naught have their d-men do it. This created a solid transition game, one which the Flyers lack. Speed is this current team's Achilles heel, and its why the D backs off so much.

Lastly, I thought Talbot was a lot more effective in this game than Downie. Steve needs to pick it up, do those little things that make him effective.

Also on the good, Hartnell may get his shot to re-gain that scapegoat form soon enough.

Not a personal attack or anything, but our old buddy Richie18 used to hate pasta just as much as schenn2shine loves Hartnell.
