beat by an unforced turnover that became an oddman rush goal and a garbage goal. i like their effort overall, but not enough pressure or puck possession at the other end. these kinds of losses infuriate me when they lose a tight game on the road like that with a garbage (frank)ing goal being the difference.
- hammarby31

It would infuriate me more if they had no opportunities the other way. They had plenty of chances to win this game. Sometimes it's just not in the cards.

I never like a loss but its a loss i can live with.
- JoeRussomanno

yeah, I agree.

they got off to a lazy start ... but got some great chances as the game went on. Mason with a Bryz-like crazy goal and that's all she wrote.

guess I'll go to bed. I'm so tired my mind is on the blink ..

Feel bad for the kid, He was just starting to show a well rounded game. Hope it's nothing major, it originally didn't look terrible.

i have been way down on hartnell. but he's turning it around, i think schenntoshine will get his wish.

vinny oh vinny he had a couple of chances tonight.
simmonds was strong as usual. giroux and jake were meh but overall it was an ok effort considering the circumstances.

More worried about Raffl than the loss. Varlamov was really good tonight. Flyers a bit sloppy in first, Mason had that flukey weak goal in the second, and they just couldn't capitalize. Still a really good trip.

A few thoughts...

Tough loss. We came up short by one goal and in my opinion the two goals allowed should have never happened. Sloppy play on the first and a bit of a softy on Mason for the second.

Make note that I'm not willing to display this group in front of a firing squad just yet.

I just don't see the balance and chemistry so many others see. So far the team has played well after a slow start but for the most part, we've lived and died by our Power Play or one line that may have caught fire at even strength. In November it was the Couturier, Read and Downie line. For the second half of December it was Giroux, Voracek and Raffl. I'll keep saying it, we need contributions from multiple line. Make no mistake that I understand we lost Read Tuesday and Raffl tonight but I find it to be a bit of a concern the moment we lose one player in Michael Raffl that we collapse like a house of cards.

I feel the more Vinny plays, the better Vinny will become and I don't think Vinny is playing enough.

Here we go, predictable. Its Jay Rosehill's fault we lost.

Lecavalier has been dreadful. He's their worst possession player and he's making some really poor decisions. Not sure his play has warranted more ice time, but with Raffl being out, he'll have to take it on.

He's hurt right now. He was arguably their best forward the first month of the season.

I'm not sure playing out of position helps him, it would be nice if he was able to get into a rhythm. Guaranteed he comes off the wings for the next game. For those holding me to that, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
