He's been out challenging shooters pretty well—commentators even mentioned it. Maybe a little deep on that goal, but there were players in front.

That was a bullet shot. Thought he's played pretty well so far.

That and the first goal he was nowhere near the top of his crease. It's those type of simple things that will keep so many more pucks out of the net. Reactionary saves are pretty but positional saves make up the majority of them. I hope he corrects this.

Wasn't there tons of traffic on the first goal? Or am I thinking of the second?

That always forces the goalie back in his crease.

But isn't that also Rollie Melanson's m.o. (pretty sure he's still goalie coach)—deep in the net.

Was pretty sure Luongo had to adjust his style when Rollie came in.

Yeah, Sean Burke, the Coyotes goalie coach(who gets a lot of love) preaches the same.

Deflected off Hamhuis too, I think. Lack had no chance.
- Michael_Stuart

Didn't see the deflection, but I'm kinda drunk, so it's possible

Lack's made some big saves. D has been a bit sloppy.

That 3rd line has been good.

Kassian and Booth have looked good, not to mention Richardson.

Hamhuis was on the ice for that goal with Yzerman watching...game over for him.

Agreed. Also, I'd try Richardson in the next shootout, nothing to lose.

They want you to move in your net deeper in the crease, and don't really want you out above the blue paint. It doesn't mean that they want you challenging shooters from well within it. That extra foot makes a huge difference to the amount of net a shooter sees.

No structure to this game at all, Canucks are playing Tampa's game not their style. Players gotta get their heads out of their asses

Honestly didn't think he had much of a chance, anyway.

Just not a sexy name.

Another deflection on on Lack

D looking tired and sloppy.

For sure, I agree that there's a fine balance. Kucherov was basically in the slot, maybe Eddie saw a potential rebound or passing play to be made and stayed conservative, but if he didn't then the right play to challenge a bit more, that was a tough shot to stop though.

Didn't really wake up even after the timeout by Torts, clearly the players weren't ready for this one tonight.

3rd line's been the most consistent line tonight.

They'll need to take at least 3 lefties out of 8, they can get awya with only dressing 2 a game, but they'd be (frank)ed if Keith goes down. I'd take Keith, Vlasic(so underrated) and Hamhuis as the 3 lefties. Weber, Doughty, Subban, Seabrook, Pietrangelo as the 5 righties.

Of course, no denying that. Just when you see the guy wind up that's when you have to challenge. The reason those goalie coaches preach playing deeper in the net is so that when you move across you have less distance to travel and open up fewer holes.

Vlasic sucks ass.

I'll poop if he makes Canada.

Much tougher to forecheck against a team as fast as TB.

EDIT - *forecheck effectively*

I think moving the puck quickly like they have been is far more effective than speed.
