People are too picky. 4th liners are so fickle. When the devils made their run 2 seasons ago their 4th line was dominating. 2 waiver cast offs and a career ahler. None of them really tough or mean or great with puck possesion

Bernier's always been a solid possession player, that was a smart pickup for NJ. Carter's been decent as well. Gionta was the surprising one.

Weise and Sestito are what they are at this point.



Archibald is a guy I have hopes for though, could be a solid 4th liner.

He's one of the guys who plays his ass off every night, similar to guys like Burrows, Santo, Higgins, etc. He's definitely a third line player, but I don't think of him as someone who plays well for 15 games a year and does nothing after that

Don't think anyone disagrees, Burrows is out, who else do you want? Kassian doesn't deserve it, but he could be worth a shot if Hansen cools off before Burrows is back. I believe Torts said that he wants a solid two-way player with some speed on each line though so I doubt Kassian gets the gig.

I agree. I also think he's progressing nicely. He's still young he'll bulk up a bit naturally.
