No, the stats are right there. He had 14P in his last 25GP of that season to go along with a +14.... everyone else might have missed it, I sure didnt. Ive been saying for a while the only bad season he had was last year. His 3rd season he had a poor start but a strong finish. - theblueandgold
I knew he had a strong finish but I didn't know he did that well statistically speaking. I was so carried away with the draft I guess i just missed the numbers. |

Myers was great the last half of 11-12.
February: 8P in 13GP, +8.
March: 6P in 12GP, +6.
He had 14P and +14 in the last 2 months of the season. Thats more than half his points from that year. Went from a minus player to a plus player because of the second half the season. - theblueandgold

must have been the first 40 games I was thinking of for that season

I know its been discused many times but if the season ended today Isles keep it and they are a bottom 5 team next year.
Its possible and we can dream - hubie
Our draft pick depends heavily on if the Isles ship sinks or floats. If they can sign or trade for a respectable goalie (Nabakov is not the answer), resign Vanek (that Okposo-Tavares-Vanek line has turned up the last couple weeks), and get a strong veteran D in FA they will not be a lottery pick next year.
To be honest, they havent played bad hockey since Nabakov got back from injury. I wouldnt be surprised if they finish just inside/outside the top 10 -- in the 8-12 range.
However, if they fail to get a goalie, resign Vanek its likely they will be just as bad next year. |

they have some nice prospects that could be difference makers next season, but a goalie and vanek should be their top 2 priorities

Do you think they'd keep a pick at say the 4-8 range if the bolded happens and Vanek leaves?
Something I've been wondering for a while, maybe they let us take say 6th overall so they get a shot at the 1st or 2nd next year? |

I doubt they resign Vanek or get a goalie
Strome promotion wont give them a bunch of wins |

You were right that he had a poor 2 month stretch, but that was just the beginning of the season.
He only played 55 games that season. Got that injury. He was very poor to start the year. Got injured in December (?) came back slow the first couple weeks in January and picked it up about middle of January to the end of the season. I think that coincides with the Sabres march to the playoffs and just coming up short. |

I say top 5 they keep, which I think is very likely. To me why keep Vanek past the deadline if he isnt resiged already |

No way Vanek signs there. He's all about his family first and I don't see him wanting to raise his family in the NYC area. I know there are plenty of suburbs and stuff, but it's still not the same. Plus then he has a longer commute to the rink daily.
I think he ends up in Minny. Plenty have said it for years, and I think they're right. |

I dont think they wouldve put that condition on the trade if they didnt have intentions of keeping a top 10 pick. I think they are confident on their end that their 2015 pick wont be a lottery, so I'm leaning towards them taking any pick 1-10.

I think the islanders will throw a 6 year 48 mil offer his way
he could do worse then playing with JT for the rest of his career

True but he could play with Parise and Pommer in his wife's home state where he went to college to end his career |

If they were doing better this season, it may be a possibility. But he didn't want to stay here because we were bad. Why would he sign to stay there? It just doesn't add up to me.
He could shock me I suppose, but I just don't think he'll want to stay there. |
