a guy whos played twice as many games in the nhl as the ahl is a career ahl'er? - hubie
He will be soon. He's currently on the 4th line on the NHL'sa worst team. I wouldn't be shocked if he's gone before years end to be honest. |

I see your point, and also agree with Stripes too. Just think of most Cup winning teams, and how they all have at least one or two really impactful rookies that actually contribute during the year and in the playoffs....sometimes the rookie even has a Conn Smyth year. BUT, I can't recall a championship team with a stablefull of teens getting minutes like we were to start the year. - LandlordTom
This team isn't anywhere close to a championship team though. You don't see championship teams with a stable full of teens because they have vets that are better hockey players than those teens at the time. That's not the case here. |

D'Agostini is a far better skater than Luke Adam. That's what's keeping him in the NHL. - buffalofan19
Agreed. He hasn't "helped" on the stat sheet but he def hasn't hurt us either. He would be an ideal 3rd line guy with Ott and someone out of Gaustads mold. But since we aren't in any position to construct a team with lines that have an actual purpose he looks bad. |

Sbroads is right though. His days in this league are most likely numbered. |

He's not an NHL 3rd liner. That's why a team with a bad bottom 6 waived him.
Ask Gunner (Ryan Wilson) the Pens blogger. He did nothing for them. |

Nope in a great mood that this year is over and just tired of the whining . Here's to a number 1 pick in 2014 and every big time free agent begging to move to Buffalo . And of course John Scott being exiled and Corey Tropp coming back to where he belongs !
Happy New Year !

So is D'Agostini - sbroads24
D'Agostini sucks and needs to get waived. Call up Adam, let him play. Luke could chip in a few points and could be a throw in to a deadline deal. McNabb belongs here as well. |

But we want to be a Cup team, and should do what those types of teams do IMO. I was all for the 4 teens playing (and actually was optimistic that Rolston would be a good fit) to start the year, but seeing what Darcy has done to Grigorenko has made me change my tune about the rookies, at least for now.
BTW anyone else really P/O'd that we have to root for the team that Kessel is on in Sochi? Yikes! |

A team looking for some D depth for the playoffs. We would get a 5th or throw him in with a Stafford or Ott deal. |

Perhaps they are. But his favorite stat the Corsi number is in his favor. That's my point. Someone that constantly brings up puck possession and the Corsi numbers as his arguments against certain players but then ignores them for other players because he has 1 point in 13 games.
Are the Matt D'Agostini's the problem with this team? No. The problem is we have TOO many Matt D'Agostini's and not anyone that resembles a consistent goal scorer. |

I do too. Cup teams a acquire players that are better than their rookies. They acquire players that are worth having their rookies look up to. The Sabres have very few of those. |

There are dozens of "hanks" that a team can find. I just dont see it, I hope im wrong but dont see it.
Hank and Staff for a 5th to mean does nothing, if anything all it does is have a lower salary. |
