I think there's been more than 1 of those. It doesn't happen frequently, but every so often. The one I know off the top of my head is Giguere. |

Would suck to win it and the new GM comes in and hires another coach. - cabin
Nolan is going to be the coach next year. Even if he doesn't come out and say it, at this point, a new GM would not be creating a good first impression by not retaining his new boss's buddy. |

In a lot of ways, yes. That's why it was pretty much the first thing LaFontaine and Nolan address when they took over. Nolan said you can't expect a team of 19 year olds to be able to compete on a nightly basis with teams full of 27 year olds. They need to play with their peers. Seems to be there's something to it.
The only young guy they currently have on the roster is Girgensons and he falls outside the normal stereotype. There's always going to be a few that manage that, but to expect 4 of them to be able to do it is just crazy. - HonkFortheGoose
Girgensons is def not a normal 19 year old. I just find it funny that as much as we wanted to see these kids play and people got all up in arms when they were sent down that it was the right move not only for the team but for those players development. Something that I have said on numerous occasions and certain people would still say it was the wrong thing to do.

Because he has a positive Corsi number?
Because he isn't as bad as people make him out to be. Would I like a few more points out of him? Of course
Btw Varone is a AHL lifer and Luke Adam is turning into one as well |

Depends on which player you are talking about.
McNabb needs to be here
Pysyk needs to be here
Ristolainen held his own here.
Zadarov didnt belong
Grigorenko doesn't belong yet.
They were outshot 50-17 last game. The "vets" are getting creamed just like the kids were. |

McNabb is the only player I would like to see get a real shot at playing. I know what Pysyk can do I would prefer moving a vet so they both can stay because they aren't going to keep both in the lineup with the blue line looking like it is.
Risto "held his own" doesn't mean he belongs here. He needs to get used to the smaller ice surface Rochester is the perfect place for him. |

Not sure he's worse than Adam, but D'Agostini has shown me literally nothing since joining this team. Porter was more effective in a Sabres jersey. |

I see your point, and also agree with Stripes too. Just think of most Cup winning teams, and how they all have at least one or two really impactful rookies that actually contribute during the year and in the playoffs....sometimes the rookie even has a Conn Smyth year. BUT, I can't recall a championship team with a stablefull of teens getting minutes like we were to start the year. |

D'Agostini is a far better skater than Luke Adam. That's what's keeping him in the NHL. |
