Players like playing for Nolan (see Matt Moulson), sorry you can't see that?
Happy New Year Boys! - Irish 14
I can see it...... I just thought it was interesting because most of us noticed he was much better before Nolan got here. I have repeatedly said lately that Nolan should stay |

I think Foligno is caught in between trying to be a power forward and trying to be a finesse player (which he certainly is not). But I think that had something to do with how easily the offense came for him when he got called up that first year.
We keep seeing flashes of the power forward he can be, but he's not doing it consistently. I think it's gonna take a little time to figure the whole thing out. Switching his position constantly didn't help his cause any, IMO. - HonkFortheGoose

What I see is a team with nowhere to go but up, start to barely get off the floor. |

I read that this morning as well. For those that don't care to actually read it, it basically states that Rolston coached the team during a harder part of the schedule. Our scoring under Rolston was actually a bit better, and the main difference is the emergence of Girgensons under Nolan.
Or at least that was my interpretation of it.
EDIT: Oh, and Myers has actually been better. Sending down the young kids has helped improve our time of possession as well. - HonkFortheGoose
So basically we fed those kids to the wolves which is never a good idea. It's funny how it works that way. Fielding a team full of teenagers is never a good idea, even though people still want them to play |

I felt like a was driving on an ice rink the whole way.
A car had slid all the way down the shoulder by the 990 exit. I was going to stop but then I noticed emergency vehicles coming up behind me. - sambarugh
I'm glad I beat it in. It didn't take long once I got here for it to look pretty ugly outside. |

It also states that D'Agostini isn't as bad as some think since he has a positive Corsi number But he can't score, wait I am confused. How is it possible that he isn't bad but he can't score? Quick I am going into something called a Corsi Comma - Stripes77
It's a posesssion number. If you can't score it is a good thing to have a positive Corsi, it shows you arent a liability.
If someone can't score and has a horrible posession number then most likely they are a liability |

They're playing better. I've said that numerous times. Just not "good" enough to lose out on a top 3 or 4 pick. Best of both worlds. - buffalofan19
This is pretty much my ideal as well. I want a top pick this year - but if they are consistently competitive so the kids learn how to win, and if most of their points are earned at home (which is important for the fans and for the team wanting to play for them) then I would consider this year a success.
And I'm fully on the rehire Nolan bandwagon at this point. If we do screw our draft position this year I think Nolan has to be in the Jack Adams conversation. Again. |

Well, D'Agostini has 1 point in 13 games (I think ?) I would hardly call that impressive. |

In a lot of ways, yes. That's why it was pretty much the first thing LaFontaine and Nolan address when they took over. Nolan said you can't expect a team of 19 year olds to be able to compete on a nightly basis with teams full of 27 year olds. They need to play with their peers. Seems to be there's something to it.
The only young guy they currently have on the roster is Girgensons and he falls outside the normal stereotype. There's always going to be a few that manage that, but to expect 4 of them to be able to do it is just crazy. |

Not sure and it's hard to look up, but I'd guess that's never happened. I don't think he'd win it - but I could see he would be nominated. |

Would suck to win it and the new GM comes in and hires another coach. |
