The change is Miller playing the best of his ability. How else do you explain gutting out a 2-1 shutout win getting outshot 50-17.

Trading Miller is the best thing for this franchise going forward, although I really want to keep him.

I hope he's dealt to St. Louis. They're a contender as it is, with Miller they'd be the favourites.

Miller has been standing on his head, great opportunity for the organization to sit back and watch his stock grow through the Olympics.

Agreed. I almost want him resigned. He is still top 3 in the league.

You'll be sorely disappointed then. Oshie's is one of their better two way forwards and is going nowhere.

Likely return will be a prospect and a 1st mainly because of his contract status.

Honestly though, he has trouble staying healthy, and isnt a big scorer. It wouldn't shock me neccessarily.

Of course any deal like this is going to have more parts to it but...

Here's my argument: Who is going to win you more games? Oshie or Miller?

and it's not like the blues don't have depth

It's not great but it's not bad either (much better than early in his career). I just think he's too important to their top six.

I was all for trading him (in large part for his sake) when we really sucked. Now that we only KINDA suck, and we are showing promise for substantial improvement by next year, I really would like him back.

Honestly, if you swap those two I doubt the fluctuation is that much for the Blues. They're an elite team without Miller. Brian Elliot has a 2.04 GAA, hard to really top that to the point where it would justify moving a good two way forward in your top six.

Can we trade him, but put a career clause on his head that says every season that leads to the olympics that he plays for us??

I'm not sure they would want to give up what we want. The others make a decent point: They already have decent goaltending.

Decent does not win the cup . A hot goalie can win you a cup.

Jaroslav Halak: 28 GP, 2.40 GAA, .907 SV%
Brian Elliott: 15 GP, 2.04 GAA, .919 SV%

That's 2 vet Goalies who are playing above average. They can do just fine without Miller. Maybe they win the Cup in 6 games instead of 5...

Not coming out of the west . They will never get past Chicago or LA with average Goaltending. Both those teams have St Louis number come playoff time.

Chicago maybe, not LA. St. Louis is better than LA.
I also think this might be the year for San Jose. Just a hunch.

But are they THAT much better with Miller?
They've beaten Chicago 3 times this year.

No, but they definitely are better. Miller is a perfect add to that team. Puts them in the drivers seat.

Yes they are much better with Miller . Had those goal tenders last year . Could not get past LA . Come playoff time. They are not getting past those two without an upgrade between the pipes . At Some point St Louis GM will realize that . Or they will all be golfing when Stanley Cup finals are being played.
