2nd full season... and all sorts of attitude issues for a couple years before that.
The league is chock full of superstar forwards who takes years to overcome their attitude and work ethic issues. - Aetherial

On a lucky streak or a good two way center? - A_Tree
Sadly, I think we saw his lucky streak... when he had the jump on the REAL NHL players who were locked out.
Once guys got back into game shape last year, Kadri pretty much disappeared. He isn't particularly impressive this year either.
So, I don't think he will be either.

What'll really help the Leafs when they're ready to compete is a guy like Sarich... not a potential point per game center who plays with an edge. |

Steen was always a good 2-way center who has been on a lucky/hot streak with goal scoring.
Kadri, will never be that. - Aetherial
I find that Kadri's game is different from last season. He seems to be looking to take the shot (usually a somewhat weak wrister from the top of the circle) way too much this season. Last season he was good a finding open ice, and drawing opposing players to him, he would then dish the puck to an open team mate for a scoring chance.
He needs to stop trying to be the goal scorer, and use his wingers more. |

You could also say Spezza.
Kadri is nowhere near, and never was near, the talent level of those two though.

No young player has ever struggled in their 2nd full season. If it was a common thing, they'd have a term for it, like "second year struggles", or something. - Feeling Glucky?
last year wasnt a full season.
so this isnt his second full season. |

Like the rest of the team, he's been playing with less of an edge. Getting suspended for a clean hit probably didn't help, either. |

"an edge"
one or two hits a year, disappears completely for most games and gets knocked off the puck by slight breeze, is not playing with an edge.

All I hear about Kadri is he is ' very very confident'. From Burke, to Carlyle. To his teammates
He isn't confident, he's an arrogant wiener. Who thinks he is better than he is.
Last years success went right to his head. Personally, I think he is a little bit of a dbag |

Kadri does have 23pt in 37. I mean, it's not beautiful but it's decent. |

Oh, I see the mistake.
You're watching 14 on the Flames, not 43 on the Leafs. |

That's fine, so does pretty much everyone in the NHL... which is why he draws so many penalties.
Getting powerplays is a good thing |

skates into the offensive zone, pulls up, then there are 3 variations...
1) weak wrister
2) try to pass to a trailing player
3) get knocked off the puck since every player in the league knows exactly what he is going to do.
Followed by the not hustling back... and becoming more invisible as the game progresses.

Agreed. Remember comment from team personnel was he was very confident then said it's not always a good thing. |

Throw out Dmen and Goalies... very different reality.
Richards accomplished much more by that stage of his career, as did Carter.
... did you really just use Lafleur, Selanne, Ov8 in a conversation about Kadri.
