I agree a nice surprise so far. Would like to see him add some O to his game though
- Vukota

That may come with time. He's got a nice outlet pass and plays some steady defense. He's been one of our best if not best since his call up. Capuano will have him playing like shat in no time.

Who are these people you heard from?
- Cptmjl

few people I have talked to that work for the Canes, Pens & BJackets.

All but one guy I spoke to believed a coaching change should have been made by now even if God was the coach, a shake up should have been done.

So i asked if Cappy was canned did they think he would find another job in the NHL as a head coach, or would he have to find one in the AHL/Collage.. They all said.. maybe not this season, but he would end up as an NHL coach in the future.

I told them I didn't agree each and every time & was told that we as fans are hard on coaches when things don't go well, but the mess on the island is not Jacks fault.

It would be pretty cool to get Reinhart... but Ekblad is good too.

The brother connection would be great!!!

Ekblad will be a great defenceman!!!

Who do you want???

1. SAM REINHART C 6'1 186 R 11/6/95 Kootenay WHL
2. AARON EKBLAD D 6'4 216 R 2/7/96 Barrie OHL

Agreed, it's not all his fault, but does share some of the blame. He still sucks and won't be an NHL head coach once he's finally gone. Maybe an assistant - maybe. The fact still remains that he has not been successful at any professional level.

Since we are pretty stocked at center, I think it has to be Ekblad. That is one hell of a talented D-men. But if we have the first pick.. Snow would pick Reinhart.

I personally think he sucks.. and would be very pleased with a change from the outside. I don't want to see Weight promoted, I don't want to see Scott Pellerin or any of his people promoted, I want to see a coach with a track record of success at the NHL level brought in to coach this group of talented players.
Its way too late to have an inexperienced coach grow with the team... Cappy was to be that guy and well... i dont see it working. The progress of the players is past the point where they can wait for a coach to get his feet wet.

He would be the same bad coach if another tean hired him. I dont think hed find another job as a head coach. Maybe an assistant but I have a hard time believing it.

I think that will come in time. Good offensive play comes from solid defensive play. As he gets more comfortable, his offense will come.

Cappy hasn't been the only issue but he sure has contributed to the teams failures and has done little to turn things around. Maybe he would get another job in the NHL if he got fired, but I can't see it being as a head coach. See Gordon, Scott.

Ekblad is good but I'd take Reinhart...we have enough d-men...trade down and get pick a good goalie might not be a bad idea either...I think the Isles will go on a run in January and be around .500 when everything is said and done so I'd be suprised if we pick in the top 10...

so you picture the worst case possible... not in the playoffs... and not in a position to pick a first round player because we would be mid round therefore giving the pick to Buffalo.

We would salvage the season somewhat so Cappy would be viewed as a savior and he would no doubt get another season to disprove himself.

yha.. it will no doubt go the way you envision it..... just our luck!

One of my fears. I can see Snow keeping Capuano on as coach even if we picked first overall.

maybe if we did have #1 pick we could trade it for an established d-man as another option...oh to dream.....

honestly I don't remember anyone saying they didn't want JT, I remember discussions about it, and some saying they wouldn't mind Hedman or thought that was more likely, but I wanted JT the entire time. When it was rumoured that Snow wasn't taking Tavares I was losing my mind.
- Isles_since_6

so then you agree that there were people who believed JT wasnt the pick, right?? i didnt call you out specifically; in fact its very possible you wanted JT. and vukota i dont keep a running diary of something that happened 4 years ago, my sincere apologies.

I just don't see it. Cappy seems oblivious to me. His failure to adapt to his roster is what bothers me the most. I think he's in over his head.

Also I think Gordon was given a worse teams to work with (though I'm sure it could be debated) .. Gervais, Sim, Park, Hunter, Comeau, Joey MacDonald, Biron, DiPietro!

Thanks for calling me adorable? Whatever? Defensive? Not at all. When you say how smart Snow was for holding onto DeHaan it's such a beyond words stupid comment with zero merit and you know it. Stop deflecting. You'd compliment Snow for breathing or crossing the street. It gets tiring after a while.
As far as the draft if you actually believe that I got a pile of shat to sell you(maybe the same one you offered me earlier today?). That was nothing but the usual trying to make the draft exciting routine. There were maybe 1 percent of islander fans on board with drafting someone else. The same idiots that think Staple spouts the truth. They probably thought it would've been smart to trade the first overall for Liles when he was in Colorado like Staples suggested as a good idea. Remember that one?
I don't even know why I addressed this part of you post the whole point was stop blowing Snow. the guy is a moron and terrible GM. What else do you need to see? Are you happy that Capuano will be your coach for the rest of the season? Remember when you wanted to bet me your boy was going to fire the worst coach this team has ever had? I'll ask that again since you didn't answer it and deflected from the original post. Snow sucks stop sucking his a$$.
