Perry then nash I believe are canadas 1 - 2 right wingers.

- rangerdanger94

I think St Louis will make as a RW
James Neal RW
and a couple of players who play C might play W Carter, Duchene, Seguin, Girioux are names that could be considered

You can't really say that because canada doesn't have a lot of great natural wingers while they have 12 natural centers that could probably make the team. Nash will make that team because he is one of canadas best wingers, not because they think he's a better player than jt. They're not going to ice a team with 4 centers playing out of position.
- rangerdanger94

There's no way JT doesn't make the Canadian Olympic team. No chance third in the league in scoring. A future cornerstone and building block for canada's Olympic program, you find room for guys like that, center, winger or otherwise.

**BREAKING NHL NEWS**Source: Islanders had an offer on table from Hurricanes.. Gleason+Prospect for Carkner+Ness ... Isles turned it down

Hockey Buzz Eklund ‏@Eklund 3m
Islanders were VERY in on Gleason. Keep your eye on them.

- LetsGoIsles

I am surprised they would turn it down. I am sure that Gleason is an upgrade over Carkner and Ness!!!

Okposo not making the Team USA roster is pretty questionable.
Ryan not making the Team USA roster is a damn joke.

I couldn't agree more......but they say KO isn't built for the bigger ice surface? yet at the University of Minnesota KO played on an Olympic sized rink????? oh well , their loss I say.

Isles were going to get Gleason and a prospect for Ness and Carkner? This seems way off base.

Correct!!!! just because he is having a good 1st half doesn't merit what he has done in his career....
- Ur Not Me

If you are going based on career numbers put Weight and Modano back on the team..

He has developed and this year we are seeing the fruits of that development but I do agree that I don't think he is suited for the bigger ice. Big part of his game now is digging in the corners and playing along the boards, that isn't happening as much on the big ice. And the last thing I want to see him do is try 12 toe drags in the preliminary rounds.. If he made the team he is maybe 3rd line if not 4th. The guys they got for those roles are better 3rd and 4th liners then him.

I would have liked him to be on the team but I'm ok with him not being there.

I don't care either way honestly but it's a hard to justify Ryan Callahan and Derek Stepan when Okposo has more points than them combined. Bobby Ryan? Come on, it's stupid. Poille says, "we didn't pick the best players we picked who we could win gold with". Yeah, that makes sense.

The only ridiculous reason I could think of is financial reasons.
Carkner makes $1.5M for another yr
Gleason makes $4.0M for 2 more yrs

so that money of could be spent on FA this off-season. We all know that the Isles will play 1 more season at the coliseum, so Wang will only spend to floor. With Cizikas, DeHaan & Poulin the only players that will have to be resigned to probably long-term deals at a reasonable cost and rest will be spent on FA D and probably a couple of F to replace the departing garbage

I agree with the Callahan pick, not Stephan but how do u not take RYAN
the kid was a beast in the last Olympics and is doing very well this season.
I don't care if KO made it or not, just not a fan of his game, sorry

Yes he is, Im not getting ur point? The players I mentioned are RFA's and are part of this team moving forward. I don't think Snow sees Amac as a $4-5M D on this team, I sure don't.....

Edit: On Vanek, he will take up most of cap if Isles resign him, so that's why I stated it could be about financial reasons

I don't. I think Callahan is just another overrated Ranger which are a plenty as far as I'm concerned. Half their fanbase doesn't even want the guy resigned. How good can he be? Now all of a sudden since he's been picked these guys are all saying how wonderful and integral he is. Look at their thread a month ago and most of those guys were trying to figure out a way to trade him. Stepan? Give me a break.
As far as Okposo not making it I could care less but I love how Ranger fans are trying to justify Callahan and Stepan making it. If you have to justify it than you obviously don't think they should be there in the first place.
