I'd pick Schneider or Bishop over Howard.

team USA is going the not just this season but, overall career route i guess.
if you go by this season Quick and Howard shouldnt be on it. Both have been injured for a while now.

if you go off this season it should be

Bishop
Schneider

goaltending depth/quality was never a issue for team usa

the question is whether the team can skate with the likes of canada,sweden,russia.
they will need guys ike kessel,kane to take advantage of the extra ice.

Agreed. Taking two injured guys doesn't make a whole ton of sense to me.

Not the way we should have ended 2013 . We can't win playing the last period on fire. A full 60 minutes is required.

Luongo has been solid and will likely start. Price will be a great backup and then they can pick Smith, or Harding who is amazing this year.

Lindback wasn't good. Wasn't the reason for the loss, though.

All this is moot. If one of Howard or Quick aren't healthy enough to play, they can remove them from the team and bring someone else over. The questions becomes whether it's Bishop or Schneider.

Pretty sure it's gonna be Miller/Miller combo with Miller as the extra.....

I figured that Howard would be the last option out of the three (Howard, Schneider, Bishop). While I personally think that Bishop deserved the spot more than Schneider, I could have understood the rationale behind taking CS. Taking Howard over either of them just seems ridiculous to me.

I actually didn't say that. I said don't be surprised if he gets consideration more than people give him credit for. However, he's having a horrendous year and did not bounce back from his injuries. Sorry?

I hate to stick up for a red wing but cmon, Schneider or Bishop over Howard is apparently a surprise? Howard is a damn good goalie and I would take his body of work over half a good year of Bishop or whatever it is Cory Schneider has done.

It's one thing to post good numbers in a weak Eastern conference and another to shine on the biggest international stage in hockey. Howard is half the reason the Wings almost knocked off the best team in hockey last year. I would put money on him to steal a big game before Bishop or Schneider.

From my observation, Howard is too inconsistent. The same actually applies to Quick, but he seems to rise in big games. I actually haven't watched a ton of Tampa games this year, so I don't have much to say on Bishop but his stats are very good. Also, if Howard is getting it over Scheider or Bishop based on his past seasons, than shouldn't that fall on Thomas? Who has performed better in the past than Howard, and has very similar stats this year.
