The same GM who did that trade managed to trade Erat for Filip Forsberg. I don't get the NHL sometimes.

what strong scoring prospect? - ChrisMS
Exactly! If Moulson gets moved at the deadline, Nashville is about the last place I want to see him moved to... they don't have anyone available for trade whom I would actually want the Sabres to acquire... and we have plenty of picks already. I'm not saying the Preds don't have a few good players (i.e. Weber), but they're not available... especially for a rental LW. Filip Forsberg is probably the only one I would consider, simply because of the potential to pair him with Joel Armia in the future.
Ryan Strome hasn't done squat since being called up by the Isles... trade Moulson back to NY for Strome (include a pick or D-Man, if necessary to make it happen). Personally, I'm cool with the Sabres re-signing Moulson... but if someone offers a high-end prospect with scoring ability then I think they need to jump on it. Sabres will have plenty of $ and cap space in offseason to overpay for some veterans. |

You can't trade a player back to his original team in the same season.
Besides, the Vanek trade was so idiotic I'm sure the Islanders would like to distance themselves from it rather than compounding the damage by trading another top prospect. |

Like the owner of the Boston Bruins... ya dumbass! How does a Bruins fan mock the city of Buffalo when the guy who owns their team is from there! Jeremy Jacobs is from Buffalo and operates his food service company (Delaware North) out of that city, as well. I would think a true Chowda Head would appreciate a blue-collar city like Buffalo... you must be too young to remember the days when the Bills used to female dog-slap your Pats and the Sabres would beat down the Bruins all year long. Those days will eventually return... everything is cyclical in sports. Sabres may not have a Cup yet, but they haven't been in existence as long as it took the Red Sox to figure it out again. You just gave me extra motivation to look forward to the days when the tables turn back around again. Witless moron. |

There is no such rule (trading a player back) and IF the Islanders can improve in other ways prior to the end of the season, the draft pick they sent to the Sabres will continue to lose value (pretty good pick right now... this year or next, either way). So, the Isles should be even more motivated to correct course this year before that draft pick is set in stone. Keep it this year and they risk losing the chance to pick McDavid, if they stink it up again next year. |

If Poile can get Moulson down to Nashville, he won't be there long, trust me. He has expressed interest in staying in Buffalo and playing under Nolan. If Nolan is still coach after this season! which I'm hoping he will be! Moulson will resign with buffalo, so buffalo will basically steal Nashvulle's 1st rounder and a strong scoring prospect for nothing - Buffalo_Boy
Nashville is not going to give up too way too much because they know he will be gone next year. Also it is not for nothing.....it is to help them make the playoffs this year. |

Last I checked there was (unless it got changed in the 2005 or 2013 CBA which I admit is highly possible, correct me if I'm wrong.) flames once got in trouble over this, traded Dean McAmmond to Colorado in October 2003 and then reacquired him at the deadline, but then they found out about that rule and he was ineligible to play until the next season.
Granted I haven't watched the Isles much but I've had the impression a great deal of their troubles have more to do with abysmal goaltending than scoring. |

Yeah it's like I've always said about the Oilers, you can go on all you want about your bright future and prospects and whatnot but until you actually make the playoffs I have no reason to take you seriously. |

the injuries are going to help add value to top 6 forwards but dont be suprised if the value isnt where it usually is at the deadline because of the sheer amount of top 6 talent available... jagr, vanek, moulson, cammilleri, kane?, fleishman, gaborik, etc, plus many many tweeners. not trying to troll those who hope to get a good return for rentals but it might not be there this year |

He's almost forcing New Jersey to keep him. He's playing out his mind and body. He's doesn't look like the Jagr that was struggling in the playoffs. |
