I'd be shocked if Burrows isn't back before the TDL, I bet he's back soon. Edler as well should be go to go before the TDL. Haven't read anything on Luongo's injury though.

Did I read Edler is expected back next week?

Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: G Eriksson Recalled from Utica, Shinkaruk Out for Season
After leaving the Canucks' last game with a possible groin injury, Roberto Luongo missed Vancouver's first practice after the Christmas break on Friday. It was also announced that prospect Hunter Shinkaruk will miss the rest of this season as he undergoes hip surgery.

- Carol Schram

Everyone's missing what's really happening here. Lu left the game after getting the signal from MG upstairs with a laser pointer. Canucks on Christmas Day also terminated Polacek's contract and now have 47 of 50 contracts in place. This is not an injury. It's a set up for a trade.

Bye Bye Lu. Gonna miss ya.

(frank)ing Romo is cursed(well.... kinda).

I'll be pissed if the Eagles choke this game away, no excuses, this should be a win for sure.

- Nucker101

Best thing might be the loss against the Vikings. They know they can't take them for granted.

Lu for Lundquist. Trade was even before, so slats gave the King a huge contract

Are you basing this off of this season? Has to be, and if so kinda hard for a player that plays a speed/skill game to play well with a really bad hip. In year's past he's been just fine.

And yes, Horvat.

- Nucker101

I dont think he'll ever really translate it to the show. Just my opinion.

But was as much trollin for the 'oh yeah? Well the oilers suck' retort as anything else.

Im bored

For what its worth, I thought Romeo was amazing down the stretch. The defense was awful. The guy in the league who choked this yr is megatron. So many drops in the past few weeks

Clearly. Or Lu has just found a way out of his contract and hopes to be the next Savard/Pronger. Groins are just as sensitive and problematic as a concussion. Right?

My biggest fear is Shink will come in play decent offensively half the time, be awful defensively and be rewarded with a 42 mill contract. Seems to be the fad in western canada

I dont think there's any hope of shink getting top ten in league points as a 21 year old.

Neither do i think there's any hope of him getting 35 goals and 76pts by his 2nd nhl season.

That said; he'll be extremely lucky to earn a couple mil a season by his fourth year, let alone 6!!

Fears abated?

Well that is a bummer about Hunter. I already bought Royals/Tigers tickets just to see Hunter play, sure hope Dweezil Zappa doesn't need surgury as well, it could really ruin my Jan.

Earned

Hall may have earned his contract.

Even looking at his offensive numbers Nuge signed his contract after 2 seasons and they don't add up to a 6 mill player. Then there is the pathetic defensive numbers.

I guess its better to have a flashy team then a decent one

Someone on that team is going to have to get 6 mil. it might as well be them, they could always pay the Zamboni driver 6 mil, but it wont count against the cap.

Nuge's is questionable.

I think they rolled the dice with his. But if there was a long term potential contract. It's the nuge.

That contract starts next season, so id say his production as of now warrants the 3+ he currently gets.

Considering cap rise and the gamble with bridge contracts.. It might turn out wise.
4 for two years and then 7-8 for another 6 is marginally to heavily worse than 6 right off the hop

Be interesting to see how these bridge deals turn out. Any less then 7.5 mill for PK and the habs look like geniuses for that dea.

2.9 for pk is insane.

I wonder if the hardball they played last time gives him cause to ask for something astronomical.
Either way, they probably pay.

maybe

But given the contracts signed by other top d men, anything below 7.5 is at or below market value.

Agree, and remember 7.5 is only 500K more than what Dion will get, and PK has a Norris. If they can get PK for 7.5 for 8yrs they should jump at it.

Toronto will regret giving him even 7 per over 7 years big time if Nonis does eventually cave into it.

I really liked what I saw from him at camp/pre-season this year so I'm hopeful. He's gonna be one of those players that will have to produce to be worth it since I doubt he'll be much of a two-way player. He also started off just fine in junior this year before getting banged up.

Horvat looks like he's gonna be awesome though, I'm starting to think that he will definitely end up being a ROR type of player.

Romo was solid this year. Dallas is just an awfully run team, Jones is a great owner but a horrible GM. Their cap management is atrocious and their drafting hasn't been great plus they can never seem to put together a team with quality depth/role players. They though Rob Ryan was the problem with their defense, he's been a solid D coach for the Saints so clearly it's their roster. Romo's also lost a bit of arm strength IMO, he used to throw the ball with a bit more zip in the past, but he's still smart enough to be a decent/solid QB, but the Cowboys as of now are headed for mediocrity for the next little while IMO.

I've seen Horvat enough times that if he Max's out at ROR I will be extremely surprised and disappointed.
A more offensive Bergeren or Toews like.

The fact that Horvat is being counted on as a #1 center with 2 (albeit very good) underage players flanking him tells you what people think of him.

They are roughly 33 mill over the cap next season. Now I'm sure a couple deals can be reworked but I expect a handful of starters gone with decent replacements

I expect the skins to be pathetic for a couple more seasons and the Giants seem to be a middling team at best for a season or 2. Should be Philly division for at the very least 2 more seasons. I expect Kelly to own the the draft again this yr as his college days should help in this area

Romo has a ton of talent. And put up fantastic numbers year after year even considering no run game (this year is kind of the exception with murray mostly healthy) and defensive schemes knowing hes throwing 50-60 times a game.
But he cant win the big game. And until he does, he'll get labelled as such. That enormous contract doesnt help his case either

Kiffin has nothing but warm bodies the last few weeks, but ill agree that its mystifying axing ryan for monte after his debacle at usc the previous season
