Please tell me where I compared them? I originally asked for a list of those who are better because I don't think there are 15 better dmen in the NHL. Then someone said he wants top 5 money. Well on that list that I originally asked for you would find guys like Chara and Weber. And you can guarantee with the cap going up they ask for something around 8.5M I'm sure. So no didn't compare the players. Just stating the obvious that if those guys were UFA's at this time then they would also get huge deals. Dion at 7M is not bad at all. In a few years, Phaneuf will be a bargain contract as the cap and cap hits keep going up.

Every single year people say the same things about big money contracts, only to refer to them a few years later as better deals than what that crop of UFAs will be getting.
