Hey, it's been a long time. So of course! But they didn't deserve the win. - Fakepartofme
Did we watch the same game? Leafs were clearly the better team, especially in the last 2 periods. They almost got hose out of a win in the last 30 seconds, but definitely controlled the pace in this game. Some people are just negative about everything ! |

They can't help themselves. If Subban makes it to RFA status, Montreal better be prepared. |

Because you don't have Sens fans in Ottawa. You have Leaf fans and Habs fans. Same reason I'm not sold on Markham working out after the new car smell wore off. - DTF69
I think another 1-2 teams could survive in the Toronto area but they wouldn't be as successful as some people seem to assume. They'd probably do better than the southern American markets but that's not saying much. Toronto is a Leafs city, not a hockey city or even a sports city. They just love the Leafs. |

Absolutely not. They wouldn't be the Leafs. They'd be Senators 2.0 the second the new car smell wore off. Even if they were competitive, they're still not the Leafs.
They'd make money. Probably break even. But they wouldn't be a soaring success of a franchise that rakes in 500 million a year. |

I don't think you do sir. If you honestly believe buff deserved the win, you hate the team more than it's worth even watching. You are allowed, just once, to say something, anything, remotely positive, or, in fact, neutral about the team you so called bleed |

That's pretty much how I see it as well. I don't think they'd ever lose money but they'd always just be an afterthought. |

I think another team could do very well. It would be nice to see an NHL game without having to pay $100-$150 for a nosebleed ticket.
I remember seeing a promotion during a coyotes game, 4 tickets,4 drinks, 4 hot dogs and parking for $55. The same would cost $500+ in Toronto |

They played well in the 2nd period and ot. They scored one goal in the shootout and only one buff player hit the net on the shootout, not sure how they "deserved" the win?
But they won, so leaf nation can rejoice! |

Those expansion fees, though... Bettman must be seeing dollars signs.
The cap will be going up 15 million per team (if those fees count towards revenue?) |

The boxscore on my phone counted it as 3 misses.
Bernier was 0 for 0 in the shootout, which was good enough for the win, I guess.
Oh, well. That's one way to do it. |

Rejoice is a bit strong. But there are different levels of emotion between slagging all the players off all of the time regardless of what took place, and rejoicing |

fixed. One of the best periods of leafs hockey I've seen in a while. goals 3-0... 17-5 shots
Someone should make a .gif of the sabres celebrating like they just won the cup when they scored late in the 3rd |

I think every single one of us on here would go see games but would the general public? I don't know if the demand would be all that high long-term. |

I would be devastated if the leafs move Gardiner for Del Zotto. The kid was everywhere again tonight, and obviously has become one of the more reliable guys for Carlyle (regularly seeing 24-25 mins a night!) |
