All kidding aside, a defensive corps of:
Timonen-Coburn
Streit-Grossmann or Gill
Mez-Schenn
does not exactly instill a whole lot of confidence in me tonight

Mase is going to need to bring his "A+" game tonight, as will G and Jake if the Flyers are going to into the break with a W.

On a side note: I really hope last nights Eagles team is the one who shows up Sunday night in Dallas, and not the one that played in Minnesota. I will be hoisting a few at the Rum Barrel (Key West's only Philly sports bar, its owned by Pat Croce) and I would prefer to be a happy drunk!!

i think we'll see a good eagles team against dallas. that vikings game was just a poop show from beginning to end, with very strange coaching being a huge part of the problem. not going to happen again...not with the playoffs on the line.

The Vikings game was a trap game, between the emotional snow game and the Bears and Cowboy games.

you see that nonsense rumor on nbc.com yesterday about the flyers and pacioretty. wtf?
- hammarby31

yeah, I don't get it either, but I figured I might as well have some fun with it.

I thought Pat divested himself of the Rum Barrel and bought into the Green Parrot?

Does he own them both now?

- johndewar

Yup, both, though technically I think his son owns the Rum Barrel. He closed down the Pirate Museum though and moved it to St. Augustine.

When did Lauridson develop puck moving skills and the ability to skate?

This idea intrigues me and I wish to subscribe to the newsletter that espouses these ideas.

Agreed, the way they came out last night, on both sides of the ball, was awesome

If the entire forward group can keep their legs moving and play with half a brain, they'll have a fair shot. If not, it'll be rough...again.

His skating seemed fine to me last year, his puck moving skills though were pretty sketchy.

It's just some justification for the "THIS IS A THROW AWAY YEAR, BRING ALL OF THE YOUNG PLAYERS UP AND TRIAL BY FIRE" group. You didn't miss anything. He is simply a younger, less developed, nastier Grossmann.

That's the second post I've seen about Lauridsen's mobility & puck handling...I didn't see it either. He played solidly last season for the Flyers, but he wasn't exactly the second coming of Pronger.
- Jsaquella

If anything, his puck moving would be a minor concern to me. He seemed pensive/nervous with the puck.

I thought he moved the puck around alot last year..... while he was trying desperately to corral the damn thing. Stupid puck.

For some extent, sure, but I think Lauridsen, perhaps unlike Alt, has had enough time in the minors to deserve a look.

You would "get rid of" Voracek?
Let me note your screen name so I can just skip your posts from now on.

Need to get rid of him before he extends his point streak to 8 games

I watched the infamous Flyers meltdown against the Pens in 2009 from the Rum Barrel.

And yes, I got pretty wasted afterwards.

He does. Like I said, if Grossmann can't go, I'd be okay with calling him up over Gill. But if they keep him playing more minutes and developing in the AHL, I'm okay with it too.

Why do they have to freeze the puck?

Sheesh, so unfair.

I think if the duct tape on Grossmann's knees ever gave way and he was on the shelf for an extended period of time, I don't think Gill would slide into that spot. I think they would call up Lauridsen.

I think they intend to just spot Gill for a game or two in the event of injury.

I hope we weren't depending on me to screencap them for posterity. I'm a gif specialist, that's in the jpg department (or png, idk I'm not an expert).

I would def bring Lauridsen up. I like Hal Gill as a locker room guy, he has had a nice career, but Luaridsen can do everything he can and should be part of the Flyers future.

Our second line has to be changed up. Hartnell and Simmonds aren't good on a line together and Schenn is struggling at center.

Bright side for tonight's match up is we do not have to face Josh Harding.
