Bill, any slight chance that Lauridisen ends up in the lineup?

My girlfriend LOVES him, and she's going tomorrow with me.

Lauridsen deserves an opportunity soon. He moves better and is a way better puck mover than luke. If your looking at this objectively. No reason he doesn't deserve a stint to show what he can do as a #6

I couldnt agree with you more! Id love for them to make room for Alt. The roster needs a big shake up and id be willing to move a handful of players to make room for McGinn, Alt, and Morin....

Id shake the team up enough to get rid of Hartnell, Simmonds, Voracek, Schenn Brothers, Meszaros and go get Evander Kane, and Big Buff and another fast skater and call me crazy but id even try to get Jagr back for a year...

you should call wip and get the movement started. Also this post needs more cowbell.

Truthfully, I'd rather have him in the lineup over Gill. That said, if they let him keep playing top-4 minutes and develop his defensive game in the AHL (team-best +10 on a bad defensive team, only 3 minus games all year), I'm okay with it. Either option is fine with me.

All of you crazy kids that wanted to see the AHL defensive corps may just get your chance.

It'd be great to get a win before the break, start the Christmas season n a good note, get back over NHL .500...Haven't seen any roster moves, like sending Gustafsson to the IR to make room for a call up.

I'd rather see Alt or even Manning instead of Gill or Meszaros.

- Jsaquella

I'm taking solace in the fact that no matter how this season ends, no matter who the GM is next season, whether the Flyers make the playoffs or not, at least next season SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, will be on the roster who I can at least pretend will help more than Meszaros.

Hell, I'd rather see Bruno Gervais in the lineup than Meszaros -- if you're going to play a bad defenseman, at least play one who does something different. Gervais is at least right-handed.

Thank god. There's is zero reason for luke to play over lauridsen. Other than the obvious. Draft position, contract, investment. Lauridsen deserves an opportunity

I wouldn't be against having Gervais up if they continue to get banged up on the blue line.

I think that's more of an indication of how bad Mez has been more than how awesome Max Talbot's BFF is on the blue line.

i'll be at the game tonight, first and last of the season, barring some miracle playoff run which would require a return trip to philly...sooooooooo...you can all thank me now in advance for tonight's loss.

I doubt the Flyers will have this sort of luck against Backstrom

Trade proposal:
The Flyers trade their entire roster and Bobby Clarke's false teeth to Montreal for:
Subban
Pacioretty
The DNA needed to clone Ken Dryden, Doug Harvey, Jean Beliveau, Rocket Richard, Guy Lafleur and Larry Robinson; and a couple 2nd round picks to give Holmgren something to play with on Christmas morning!

When did that happen? I saw them play together in many games last season and Lauridsen did not look like a better puck handler. He handled it like a grenade.

All kidding aside, a defensive corps of:
Timonen-Coburn
Streit-Grossmann or Gill
Mez-Schenn
does not exactly instill a whole lot of confidence in me tonight

Mase is going to need to bring his "A+" game tonight, as will G and Jake if the Flyers are going to into the break with a W.

On a side note: I really hope last nights Eagles team is the one who shows up Sunday night in Dallas, and not the one that played in Minnesota. I will be hoisting a few at the Rum Barrel (Key West's only Philly sports bar, its owned by Pat Croce) and I would prefer to be a happy drunk!!

You remember correctly. However he does skate pretty well for a big guy, plays a nasty game and is not afraid to mix it up. At this point, I would rather see what he can do, than have to watch Mez or Gill.

Ha! Man, seriously -- Meszaros has been that bad. At least with Gervais, I could pretend that maybe he'd keep a puck in at the blueline on his forehand.

That's all I got left, as a fan -- hoping "the best of the worst" might keep a puck in on his strong side.

That's the second post I've seen about Lauridsen's mobility & puck handling...I didn't see it either. He played solidly last season for the Flyers, but he wasn't exactly the second coming of Pronger.

I thought Pat divested himself of the Rum Barrel and bought into the Green Parrot?

Does he own them both now?

Yeah...let's put it this way. I haven't had this little faith in a player since good old Geoff Sanderson was doing absolutely nothing back in The Season That Shall Not Be Named.

I doubt that the Habs are willing to trade Pacioretty, but I have zero doubt that the Flyers called about him.
