Taylor Leier provides Canada with big game experience

590 had a guy on this afternoon who covers the CHL and is providing coverage of the WJCs. When they stooped talking about the Phenom the host asked him who in the tournament viewers should watch the first name out of his mouth was Taylor Leier.

He's a solid prospect for the Flyers, not a big time scorer but will be a 2nd line fringe player but a good energy hard working 3rd line player.

If you put Lindros next to Crosby in a head to head match, I dont think there is a single category that Lindros would lose.

Crosby is a better skater, not so much faster but more agile. And a much bigger b!tch.

Alright boys, big game tonight. We can either pull back above .500, and work to build our record from there, or slip back below .500 and continue our repeated struggles to get over that hump. I guess we could also lose in overtime and really not go either way, but still an important game. Minnesota is slumping a bit, their star of the season Harding is out, they're coming off 2 rough losses to metro teams, and they have a "meh" away record. Now's the time to strike. We have to combat their boring system by bringing the energy and emotion, we have to combat their trap by giving our dmen plenty of pass support, and we have to pay close attention to the little things in order to get a definite win tonight.

Right, I guess the way you worded it just made it seem like Gus is a healthy scratch.

This is a pretty intriguing idea to eliminate teams from tanking and could also help facilitate more trades, since the pick numbers are pretty much etched in stone.

I like the competition for pick position idea. The moment a team can no longer possibly make the playoffs, they enter a new point standings. From that point any points they get for the rest of the regular season are counted there, and at the end of the season, the team with the most points in this draft bracket wins the 1st pick, the team with the 2nd most points gets the 2nd pick, etc. So Florida gets eliminated with 10 games left, and Edmonton with 8 games left. In their last 10 games, Florida gets 15 points, and Edmonton gets 16 points in their last 8. Edmonton wins the 1st overall pick, and Florida the 2nd.

That's interesting as well, but it screws a team that gets eliminated in game 82.

I saw them both quite a bit. And in person. Lindros at his best was the most dominating player I have ever seen.
- MBFlyerfan

Im old. The most dominating player I ever saw was Bobby Orr, he looked like a ferrari in a lot full of go karts. It makes what the Flyers did against Boston in 74 even more special and incredible!

Why is ESPN making a big deal about this Candlestick Park?

The NY Football Giants went into that dump and penetrated that loser franchises skull on the regular...

Whether it was Bavaro dragging half the Niners defense 20 yards down the field on a Monday night, to Leonard Marshall crumpling up Joe Montana like an accordion, or Eli and crew in a monsoon winning an NFC Championship game there.

Candlestick Park, where the Giants buried the Niners on blast.

I guess, but a team eliminated in game 82 is looking at pick 14 or 15 the way it is now, and they'd be looking at the same thing with the competition system.

Going to miss the last half of the game for a movie this evening.

All non playoff teams now have a shot to get number 1 pick, though.
