His skating, positional play and decisions with the puck remind me a bit of Gagne. Raffl is more physical than Gagne, but Gags had a much better shot and quicker release.

I hope Downie will be OK soon...he's one tough player, but having his face broken against Washington earlier, then catching that dirty elbow last week where he was clearly out of it...can't say I'm surprised that he's out.

I don't know what to say about Vinny being back -- with back injuries, there's no way to tell. He probably shouldn't be playing, but he has been practicing -- I guess, at some point, the player wants to play. Lecavalier's been around long enough to know that it's a long season, and coming back too soon for a Saturday game in December against Columbus wouldn't be worth it.

At least, I hope he knows that.

Read's offense was much more evident. They both display good two-way games.

You know, he's an interesting player. I really didn't see the hands -- I still question whether he's a natural goal scorer.

But he's a really good passer, and what you can really see is the hockey sense.

He's surprised me, because he is developing rapidly, during an NHL season, in his first season in North America -- that's not impossible, but it's that's not easy to do.

but in all honestly id hope he is able to follow the dougie hamilton path rather than see his NHL debut come in 2023 as desired by ob18
- Crimsoninja

There were people who thought Hamilton wouldn't be in the NHL for at least 2-3 years after being drafted.

I don't mind seeing him go back to juniors for one more year, but I want to see improvement from him. I want him to, at the very least, make the decision a difficult one. If he looks out of place, I will be a bit concerned.

His shot looks pretty heavy, but hitting the net has been a problem for him.

Hal Gill over Mez? I'm assuming Grossmann is nursing an injury and not being a 'healthy' scratch.

Oof.

Get well soon Jsaq. Hopefully that Tcell mediated humoral response does the trick, along with the Classical Complement Cascade and ADCC response

The kid thinks the game really well and thats something that is both hard to teach and rare to find in a young player. Couturier is an even better example of this.

When it comes to scouting forwards, I have to give the Flyers a ton of credit. They do it as well as any team in the league. Hopefully Morin, Hagg and Ghost will improve their grade on scouting dmen; I'm still trying to recover from Jeff Woywitka, Kevin Marshall and Ryan Parent!

You know Columbus will come out with energy because of the way the last game ended. Couple that with our injuries along with Wisniewski and Gaborik returning and I'm not feeling too confident.

Gill is a better fill in for Grossmann than Mez. Similar style of play and he can pick up some of the PK minutes.

Does anyone know why Grossmann is scratched?

Yeah -- it'd be nice to punch them in the mouth with a quick one in the first five minutes, but I can easily see that going the other way.

If a good version of Marian Gaborik shows up, that would be a real problem.
