Keaner...both of them go "hand in hand"...both shouldn't be in the NHL...

Eh, as I've said, Snow has had his ups and downs. Good moves and bad moves. I think he needs to be held accountable for the team he put out this year but I'm more interested in seeing Cappy gone than worrying about Snow right now. I still think he has accumulated a group of young prospects that will make the Isles a force soon, but it can all go to crap if he fails to get someone in here who can cultivate said talent.

I see what you are saying but with the amount of top five picks this team has had even a homeless on the street can pick some good players. I am not impressed with this team Snow has built.

Imagine where we'd be in the standings if we held 7 out of those 10 leads. This isn't really as much about personnel as much as it is how said personnel is being used.
Wtf is Boulton out there during a tie game in the 3rd?
I'm not near as down on Snow about the team as I am for his refusal to dump this dope coach

- keaner17

Here's the stat fellas. Going into Rangers game, isles had won 45% of those games. If they'd play to league average they would have 14 more points. Throw last night and tonight in its still under 50% and there is 16 points perhaps they've blown if they are even an average third period team.

Capuano post game I heard on radio was pretty spirited. In his own words he said Isles defensemen started playing east and West and got themselves hemmed in and worn down by a big team. Then the two bad icings that led to goals. (Bailey touched that puck on first one) He then said battle level about 7 times in referring to giving up two quick goals off of face offs. Said team can't take a second off.

Players said that team was focusing on bad calls and weren't ready at the puck drop.

I don't know, I thought on first goal In 3rd period Getzlaf was all alone for about an hour. The D zone coverage is just horrendous

Well remember this is by no means the finished product of those picks. Also, later picks like Cizikas, Martin, and Hamonic appear to have been sound moves. That said, I agree that there have been enough high picks that we'd expect some of this to be a given. I just think if this team were better coached we could likely be a good 8 wins ahead of our present standing at which point most wouldn't be as vocal about the gm decisions. Regardless, it all is Snows responsibility.

I think Wang has more say in what goes on than we talk about.

I don't go to Islanders games but when you're there is Wang sitting in the owners box with Snow? Like two stooges in a bunker?

I don't know how Wang made so much money. He spends millions on a hockey team then he lets ex-hockey players (not hockey people) run it into the ground. What a fu cken a-hole....

Me either... It's demoralizing. As I've said, we drafted almost all forwards early in Snow's drafts, then all defense in the second wave. Unfortunately he hasn't done a great job bridging us to that second wave, largely because it can only be done via free agency (since trades just deplete the whole purpose)
So if Snow is to be damned for anything at this stage, his refusal to dump Cappy is his primary failure.

Seriously AMAC and Hickey need to go. Need to trade them away. Not sure how due to the fact they aren't worth much.

Oilers got shelled at home 6-0 tonight. A fan threw their jersey on the ice at the end of the game. That's brilliant

I couldn't post tonight until now. Team played the third period like a preseason game and our coach is a fraud. Our GM is a stooge and our owner is a crook. I've followed this team and never wavered for 34 years and I don't ever remember feeling this betrayed. This feels like the franchise would have been better off sold and moved.

Better than Nabby overall...No. More talented (which is what you said), ABSO-FRICKIN'-LUTELY. Perhaps you missed that little party we called the 2012-13 NHL season and subsequent playoffs, where Nabby proved he had clearly lost a step, if not two. The guy was getting beat high glove two to three times a night because he simply no longer had the reflexes to bait shooters. He was arguably the worst Islander during our playoff series with the Pens. He started like crap this season to the point that fans were chanting Poulin's name the first time he took the ice after Nabby's injury.
So while I give the marks of technique to Nabby, I'm plenty confident that the better reflexes rest on Poulin's side. Given a seasons worth of starts in the NHL, I'm also confident that we would see continued improvement on Poulin's angles, rebound control etc, which most have already acknowledged.

I dont mind him getting the majority of the starts the way hes playing either but i think its funny when people talk about him like hes our saviour. The guy was not playing well before his injury.

No one called him a Savior, but he is the best we have.

Exactly. If we had even decent goaltending we wouldve won that series. Like I said they'd have to be desperate.
- Cptmjl

or want a vet backup, which teams making a run do trade for at the deadline... none of them are going to be seeking out Poulin.
