Tornado sirens are probably some of the most eerie things you can ever hear. Hopefully all goes smoothly down in Smashville
- LetsGoBuffalo75

When I lived near population I used to hear them 2 or 3 times a year. It is all relative. Just like how 12" of snow is ridiculous around here.

Only in Boston can that happen, this is the worst officiating that I have ever seen.
- SABRES 89

That was the worst call of the season against the Sabres but there have been many all season. Maybe the league is pulling a Pittsburg and making sure buffalo gets the first overall .

Steve Ott said that with Chara's broken stick it would have been more of a 5 on 2 and they could have scored.

So he's so bad and untalented that they punished him by playing with the Sedins, and he produced. Definitely a 4th liner
- sbroads24

in reality though, do those stats prove he's a 1st liner?

i've never been a fan of kassian. i think he's a 3rd liner at best that will net 10-15 goals per season on average throughout his entire career. but with that said, he's a tough son of a female dog that doesn't mind fighting or mixing it up with other douchers so if a team needs him, like vancouver did at the time, or the rangers need right now, he's a good pickup for them. but lets be realistic.

he might score 20 goals ONCE in his entire career in a single season, and even that's a stretch.

Was it really that bad last night? At least they came down to earth though. Starting to fear we'd lose our hold on Reinhart

So I was looking at 5 worst teams in NHL and believe they all need Ekblad before Reinhart simply by need. Sabres might luck out if they end up drafting second so it gives them some leeway.

Five worst team in NHL right now:

Sabres
Oilers
Islanders
Flames
Panthers

He might never. My initial point was that you can't judge trades until years after they happen. If Hodgson ends up producing like a 3rd line center and Kassian ends up a 12-15 goal guy that hits and fights, chances are we still got the better player, but it's not as lopsided as people first thought.

Already in less than 2 years I went from thinking Hodgson could be a stud possibly 1st line center, to thinking he will never be a good 1st line center. Most likely he ends up a good 2nd line center for us, and Kassian ends up a 3rd line winger.

People blow things out of proportion and come to the conclusion that this means I want Kassian back or don't like Hodgson. That's not it at all

The dumb Oilers will somehow get Reinhart instead of Ekblad who they really need. We end up with another Dman. Would be hard to pass him up if he's available and Reinhart is gone.

All those 1st rounders and the Oilers are getting shutout bad.

First game I missed all year last night, but it sounds and looks like this team is playing with some fire. You have to like what Nolan has done so far.

"Sabres president Pat LaFontaine is inching closer to naming his replacement for Darcy Regier. Boston assistant GM Jim Benning is the top candidate." - Bruce Garrioch, Ottawa Sun

err.. I dunno. He's had a bad history with us in the past and was supposedly the guy who led the charge to trade Seguin.

I can see Benning as the #1 candidate at this point. Lafontaine talked positively about the Boston Bruins this week on WGR as a model to follow and he has had several conversations with Cam Neely. Benning was one of his first interviews so I can see this as the choice.

You are correct, his history in Buffalo was not very good. He was a scout from 94-98 and Director of Amateur Scouting from 98-04. The interesting thing here is that he was working for the Sabres when Nolan was coach. Coincidence?

Oh (frank), brace yourself....The Ted Nolan "discussions" are coming

Let's hope his time in Boston has taught him well.

Ex Sabre Lafontaine as President of Hockey Operations.
Former Sabre scout Jim Benning as GM.
Former Sabre coach Ted Nolan as the coach. The interim tag is removed.

See the pattern? If he's the guy he better be the right choice.

Does he not get the same excuse as the others? Due to the fact we had zero resources sunk into the scouting department at that time.

Its honestly a question I have. Are people going to forgive him because of the lack of resources or are they going to place blame on him for that time period?

He has prior ties to the organization, during a time when our drafts were crap, so of course some people think it was all his doing and will hate it if it's the move.
