as a bio/chemist by education yet catholic by raising, it's a tough call

scientific evidence, or faith

over time I have leaned toward scientific evidence

- homiedclown

I can relate.

My step-father is a Science teacher and is also an Atheist (not that I'm calling you one), but the rest of his immediate family are Orthodox Christians.

He is also one of the most kind-hearted people I've ever met, and is much more "Christian" than a lot of people I know who think that by going to a church every Sunday, they have a first-class ticket into Heaven.

Growing up, I never doubted the existence of "God". Over the past decade, I'd say, I've started having my doubts and really question it. I want to believe, but Science is undeniable.

That said, I've had things happen to me personally that cast doubt on my doubts, if that makes sense. Things that definitely do not make sense in the scientific world, but I know as fact in my world (Insert "punch-in-the-eye" emoticon here).

I guess it's best, at least for me, to live by being kind to one another, treat others as you'd want to be treated, love your family and friends and, well, hopefully if there is a judgement day, I've done enough to earn an invitation to join the party.

I'd really hate to think that, when it's over, the lights just go out. That really can be a paralyzing thought if you let it.

A lot of gay haters in here that support Robertson, you might want to run and hide again.

The bible was rewritten many times over, with the writers' own opinions and changes inserted, I'm sure. No one knows what's original in it or added/changed.

This isn't about that, it's about being able to have an opinion in this country and not labeling a person as being bad because their opinion differs.

I believe atheists and agnostics(I consider myself an agnostic) having a stronger faith in humanity because worshippers of god believe that for all the wrongs done, someone else(god) comes along and gets justice at some point. I do not believe that, I believe that justice must be had on earth in life.

Trying to jump Kessel, elbowing Ericksson. It's hard to be dirty when you only get 4 shifts a night. He's not a hockey player, it's kind if funny how people are defending his ability or lack of yet acknowledging the reason he was brought here in the first place had nothing to do with playing hockey.
- sbroads24

I cant't say that he "jumped" Kessel...he told Phyllis that he was going to have to "go" with him at the face off circle...not attack him from behind as "jump" would imply? I agree that nobody wants to screw with Sabres since he joined the team. Amazing how Lucic turtles against Weber...proving fighting does help deter a team from taking advantage of another team.. just wish he could actually play though..so I give you that...just not that he is dirty..you're absolutely wrong there

duck dynasty is a stupid stupid show.

what he said was (frank)ing stupid. freedom of speech does not protect you from the consequences of your bigotry.

that show should be off the air. it'll be a sad day if another network picks it up.

- Putzfrau

And this is the problem with the media. Do you even know what he said? He recited some scripture stated that homosexuality and a few other things are wrong in his opinion. Then stated that he is not here to judge and that God will judge them in the end.

I have a feelin that you either are easily swayed by the media or don't know what he actually said. But if what he said actually offends you then please have fun at the next PETA or Jesse Jackson rally.

That's pretty much it. I do not know who it is I'm sorry. My cousin is involved with their scouting and told me last night. He said nobody will be surprised.

I would think so too but you got to think they were the first two or three interviewed so who knows? Its less exciting now that it has taken so long.

You missed:

(A) 20 pages of inane Matt Ellis/Chuck Norris silliness, and

(B) 3 hours of self-appointed "constitutional scholars" and "biblical experts" proving, in writing, just how horrible a combination comes from a little bit of knowledge, and a preference to talk rather than listen.

So no, you don't want to know.

If you're talking about not being "surprised" it's gotta be one of those two because they're the most talked about by media outlets when it comes to the sabres gm search. My wildcards would be Loiselle and Fenton but if Loiselle really was a strong candidate TSN would have been all over that.
