John Scott has 0 points and is a -9 in his career as a Sabre, also being by far the worst possession forward on the team, maybe even the league. Most of his shifts start in the offensive zone and end in the defensive zone. He's not a good player, Nolan can try all he want that won't change.
Waive him, no one will take him, let him play in Rochester until someone cheap shots us again. He's wasting a spot that could be occupied by a young player

Thornton is a borderline goon and he's dirtier than Scott, but he at least plays a semi regular shift. He has 3 goals this season. He does something, and if we're up to me both Scott and Thornton would be out of the NHL

What's so funny about it? He was brought here to beat the piss out of people and stop this fragile team from getting run every night. I don't think you're offering up anything the rest of us don't know when you say he's not a hockey player. Do you think they brought him here to score goals?

This town was screaming for a move of this type to happen after the Miller-Lucic fiasco and it's one of the better moves that Regier made over the past 2 seasons. The team hasn't been on the receiving end of any borderline/dirty plays since Scott has been on the team. The fact that you don't like fighting, goons, staged fights or whatever means nothing because all of that stuff is still a part of the game at this point and time.

Get off Scott , You are getting worse than another poster that keeps condemning the hiring of Ted Nolan and Pat LaFontaine . Who in the league office told you they are trying to get rid of fighting . No ONE !!! The majority of hockey fans still like to see fights . Fact is if the instigator rule was gone . We would see a lot less of these cheap shots we are seeing .
I believe Ted will work with John and make him a better hockey player and he will be an even more useful member of this team . Like I said ask the Sabre players if they have a problem with John being around.
