I'm just happy they took Jankowski one spot before we took Maatta. Good on them. |

I don't feel comfortable at all saying that, but I think he can share a very similar style to how Lidstrom played. - Ryan_Wilson
Got it, destined to be at least as good as Lidstrom. |

Giroux's goal was sick last night, I hate him but you have to respect the skill it took, he was getting pushed down at the same time too. Of course there may have been a bit of luck involved. |

The Giroux goal that has people calling it the goal of the year.
Crosby did it better.

Did he get goal of the year? Or was that before they had all that voting? Also, wouldn't say it was better; if anything, Crosby had a better angle. Both sick goals, though. |

Yep, he manned up last night, 4 points in the 3rd period capped by that goal.
Unfortunately for the Flyers it appears they can't have good Giroux and good Mason at the same time.

No it wasn't goal of the year. They are both fantastic shots. One could argue that Giroux's is better due to he circumstance of it being the game winner in a 4-1 comeback game. It is a clutch goal.
Crosby's was the 5th in a 5-2 game. |

I liked the way Giroux created just a bit of seperation before the shot, it was a nice play. |

Crosby did have a better angle and giroux had his back to the goal, as I said there was a degree of luck involved. |

What's the word on his injury? - canadianpenfan
Word is he'll miss at least a month, likely out of the race for the Calder trophy and will not represent the Czechs at the Olympics barring a quick recovery. |

other than that I don't see any conceivable reason why Mackinnon, Krug or even Hertl wouldn't be in line before Maata. - TheTaoOfSemenko
I keep forgetting Krug is a rookie.
Hertl's chances are gone now that he is out for a month and possibly more. Then again, I know an MVP from a year ago that was a no show for 50% of the season, so ... |

Teenage Mutant Ninja Hertl has it locked up, Maatta is good but he hasn't forced a veteran goalie into retirement yet - FinAddict
The only thing Hertl has locked up is a month long vacation.

Don't know how to post links, but I'll take the Ovechkin twirling, falling, sitting on his butt looking the other way backhander against Boucher in Phoenix. |

I hated to hear the news. Kid was having a great season. He certainly is fun to watch. There is a member of that SJ team if he was injured, I wouldn't give a damn about. It's not Hertl. |
