Also, I don't want to put a damper on things, but Braydon Schenn looked God-awful last night. Whenever he got the puck, it resulted in a turnover or (when he was fed point-blank) a weak or blocked shot for an easy save. I don't know if it was a result of the hit, but his hockey sense was about a -5 last night. Bad decisions and soft on the puck. Not saying he's a bust or anything, but he was pretty terrible last night.

Love Couturier.

Post Concussion syndrom...I don't care that he said he didn't have one...he did...he is just young enough to recover quickly...he was out on his feet (and then out off of them)...

No fine or suspension for the hit is mind boggling...Shanny is an idiot in this role, the inconsistancy is mind numbing...they are never going to fix these hits with him handing out poop sandwichs

I'll be watching that Claude Giroux goal all day on loop.
- johndewar

I would do that, but then karma will bless us with another Kane/leighton goal somewhere down the line.

Eff Karma.

How much poop have we eaten as Flyers fans for the past 12 months?

Answer: A lot.

I'm just going to enjoy that period and that goal. Wanna believe in Karma? Karma owed us that poop.

After having to watch those two (frank)heads pick up the Cup and having to watch and read everyone make Sergei Bobrovsky the Russian Ken Dryden after 40-ish games, you'll have to forgive my need to think the hockey gods owe Flyers fans one. Or five.

nice write up, bill. one of my hockey teammates was at the game last night and crossed paths with Mark, his favorite player, and snapped a pic of the two of them together. pretty cool.

it's too bad jay doesn't cover the team anymore. this town needs better beats.

It's only weird if it doesn't work!

God I was waiting for G to have a game like this. Maybe footage of 'the shift' should be required viewing weekly.

Just read Ek's update, did Danny's play fall off or is the Montreal coach an idiot?

- DrMidnite

While his play may have fallen off a bit, the coach seems clueless in how to use Danny. For most of the season he has used him as a 3rd or 4th line winger which is NOT how to use Briere

But you are right there fella. Hartnell was only 97% at fault.
- jak521

It was a stupid/lazy play, yes. But it's the same thing as a defensive zone turnover. If a guy turns the puck over and a goal is scored, it's not all of his fault.

It's obviously not enough to have a franchise gifted with generational talent.

Pens fans are like ex-girlfriends that you dumped. You don't give them a single thought, but they can't wait to crap on your good time.

Pens fans are like distant relatives. They show up for a short time, get on everyone's nerves, then disappear for years.

they behave as if what they've done to receive their bounty is through hard work and top-notch scouting, when really it's the exact opposite of that. what's worse is the generational talent that leads their team is a sniveling baby who receives special treatment. it will be interesting what happens to that franchise after his career over. maybe they'll get lucky and suck horribly again for 5+ straight years and get handed another bumper crop of genetic miracles on a silver platter.

I hate that the Flyers worst season, in which they even lost the lottery, was in the weakest draft year int he past decade. When it comes to superstar talent, that 2007 draft class is pretty terrible after...well, Kane. Lot of good player, but not even close to the other drafts.

I saw Aaron Portzline recommend Frank Seravalli on twitter last night. I almost unfollowed him, what an awful thing to say.
