Yeah, Rielly looked pretty solid last night, so did Holland. Lupes was okay... didn't see anything from the top line though, which is worrying.
- lumlums

really? I thought Kessel had about 4 or 5 great chances - where the passes were too far in front of him or in his feet....and he got robbed on that beauty play from JVR and Kadri....they combined for 12 of TO's 27 shots.

With the Sabers win over the Bruins, the Sabers are no longer on pace for the worst record in 25 years.

Rielly is starting to pick those spots, so refreshing seeing him grab that puck and it's out and up the ice on a rush, instead of fumbling with one hand on the stick in the corner.
- LeafMan

yeah, it makes a huge difference when you have D that can actually effectively rush the puck out of the zone

Rielly played great. He picked the puck up with about a minute left and made a great rush down the boards, almost put one past too.

yeah.. i took tae kwan doe as a a kid.. i quit at yellow (two belts in) because i decided i would stay and train with the senior belts.

they wanted me to spar (to practice defense) and i dropped a green or blue (cant remember) belt (10 belts or so above where i was) in about 30 seconds.

it was then I realized I probably wasnt learning much and I quit after that year

- Dozzer

was this at Colborne? I was in that class until yelllow belt with a green stripe. The only time I used anything from that was years later at UWO when I was trying to get a friend into a cab after a night out drinking, and he decided to take a swing because he wanted to cause some trouble instead.

of course since we were both plastered, it was likely not nearly as nice of a move as I remembered.

Which is why I think Rielly and Holland should have been stars of the game, I didn't catch the three stars.
- LeafMan

Phaneuf, Smith, Reimer.

Reims was deserved... Smith was okay, but not too many of our shots were grade-A opportunities...

Must have been the same guy picking the stars that does the stats, both clueless.

None of the shots, apart from the one he got robbed on, were good opportunities... There were very few times that the crowd got excited. Mrs Lums on the other hand got a small flask of her favourite rum inside so she was very happy... .

Bozak...hate to admit it, but Bozak is a better choice than Kadri on that line. Nazem isn't ready yet. That being said, the top line is still getting chances.

Honestly Bruce, Rielly was the standout, how any one could not see that had the blinders on for that game.

Would a Phaneuf Girardi pairing not be exactly what we need? I really hope we get him.

Reimer got a star even after that terrible goal...or am I being to hard on him?

I have noticed Kulemin has been skating harder, and getting better looks at the net...think his agent gave him a call and told him to get his ass moving, or he was going to get a pay cut.

Did Seidenberg deliver another head shot? Only thing I'm interested with the bruins if him and Chara got away with another hit to the head.
- LeafMan

nope, but I was kinda hoping Looch would run over Miller again by the third period

7/year for Phaneuf is a fair deal for him and the Leafs. The term is too long but as we all know teams will be lining up in the summer to sign him and he would probably get a bit more $ too. As long as the NTC isn't very restrictive the deal is good and if the team goes south during those 7 years they can find another taker.
