He'd be a first ballot all star within 3 days.

Speaking of hall of famers. I'm furious Nonis and Carlyle didn't send Rielly to the Jrs. Give the kid some pedigree, they've left out an accomplishment that will taint his career in 20 years from now.

If Phaneuf is the leader of this team why haven't we heard of a players only meeting, surely they can't be satisfied with their performance.

This is Toronto, nothing of that nature stays quiet, we would have heard of it by now. Just makes me wonder.

Phaneuf doesn't seem like much of a leader.

Kessel gets lots of love. He's he's an American with Aspergers.
- robin_steele264

I don't get it... how does this make him any different than any other American?

The same thing happened with Komisarek in his first season, and that all turned out for the best in the end.

Who gives a (frank) what he's gonna do when he's 39. He'll already have won a cup or two and be ready to retire.

Honestly, I'd send him just to keep his games played down. Saves the. Having to scratch him to do it.

Want to make sure he has waiver eligibility for next year in case he needs more time in AHL.

By that logic, wouldn't we also know if there were locker room issues? All this talk about "Phaneuf isn't a leader", what does that even mean? Are we taking issue with how he is with his teammates or how he is with the fans/media? Does the latter even matter all that much? If people want to criticize Phaneuf for his shortcomings on the ice, that's fine, you can make a case for that. All this "he's not a leader" stuff is so stupid though. There's no way anyone can know that.
