Just saying, knowing where to fit in is a good thing. My own team is proof that talent alone is not enough. - TheTaoOfSemenko
pretty safe to say Nash knows where to go as well. He also has far more talent. |

people will try anything to demean a guy who stands in the way of a player they favour - Dozzer
Riiiiiiight
Explain how this applies to me saying Kunitz holds his own. I'm really curious how you come to that statement from this. |

i am saying a trained monkey could have success with those guys
my cousin warren in the 93 playoffs is the perfect example.. the guy was a fourth line fighter.. but in the playoffs melrose put him up on Gretzky's line to protect Wayne.
after the first two rounds Warren was in the top 10 in scoring.
his words: "you could put a hockey trophy on the ice and Wayne could get it points"
same goes for Crosby and Getzlaf.
Kunitz is nothing more than the modern day Jari Kurri - Dozzer
What I find funny is that no one seems to acknowledge that this is a winning formula. Playing 3 high skilled guys on the same line rarely works out. Look at Edmonton. You need the guy that plays the simple nose to the net hockey when you have skill like those mentioned above. |

How come no one else did as well as Kunitz has playing with those guys? - robin_steele264
Who else has had a long enough sample size to compare him with?
Kunitz is a good player who knows where to be and when to be there and has no desire to be anything more then that support player.
But he can be replaced, as long as it is not another guy who wants to be the guy with the puck.
Edit: Didn't Sykora play with Crosby before Kunitz and put up 60-70 points a year? |

Isn't that Nash's numbers too? - rSole
Career best vs career worst... Sure |

Ya you might wanna check his stats this year and how he's playing.
He won them Gold last time. - Fakepartofme
Pardon? Luongo? They won it in spite of him. His numbers have improved because Torts has implemented a more defensive minded style. Its not a coincidence that Lundqvist's numbers have gone down after his departure. |

This is what I have noticed with Nash, when he turns it on, he is a handful to stop going to the net but he has a lazy streak in him as well, that is why he can be a star one night and invisible the next night. |

Well GMs usually give coaches some rope with the media up to the point where they fire them. But sadly I think as Leaf fans it's again time to settle in for terrible hockey and wait a year or two for the coach and or management to get fired.
Maybe before the end of the universe this team will actually be good again... |

with you it applies to hall.. you are using every argument you can to undermine Nash's ability so that you can come around to saying thats why Hall should be going.
been around these boards long enough to know how it works |

Just saw an interesting stat.... Leafs are 4-11 when they're scored on first..... 13-5 when they score first
Confidence problem? Why fold like a cheap tent after the first goal?
Discuss.... - CarlitoBrigante
More simple than that. When they play well they score first. When they play like poop, they don't score... |

Actually have I once today said Hall should be on the team?
Think you see things that aren't there

oh yes.. i am not talking about him as an NHLer.. i am talking about him as a world tourney player.
he always steps up for these short tourneys.. probably why he is an over rated NHLer quite frankly |

Hall is softer than Nash without question.
Should Nash be on Team Canada this time around? Well....if he's not, Im ok with it...if he is, Im ok with it as well.
It may be time to inject some new qualified youth into the system.
But that's not the real issue, gents.
The real issue is this.
I just wolfed down some Five guys burger and fries followed up with some chocolate fudge ice cream (ice cream is my weakness) and now my tum tum hurts.
Who's gonna rub it?

robin stop playing games.. you knew what we were talking about and you piped up saying how Hall was a better player.
its perfectly reasonable to make that assumption since thats what we were already talking about.

120+ more goals in 125 extra games.
Put Nash somebody capable of scoring like Crosby and getzlaf and it wouldn't even be close... Not that it's close now.
Like I said, carseer best vs career worst (give or take a couple points ) |
