This is what upsets me about these boards. Why the Rangers? Once again they seem to be the measuring stick for many of you guys. They stink!! 23rd out of 30 teams. They have spent to the limit every year.. and used to spend much more than everyone and never won jack poop. 1 cup in 70 years.. 30+ of them with only 6 teams. (the only reason they won the one is b/c their current GM traded his whole Edmonton team to NY when he was the Edmonton GM). Pick a team he can be proud of watching if not the Isles.... certainly not the Rags.

That's great. I think if I had kids if be devastated if they cheered for the Rangers a, yet I don't want them to cheer for the Isles and submit themselves to a life of sports disappointment.

I used the "it builds character" angle for a while. It doesn't, the reality is it just makes you a jackass for the rest of your life which is why I'm pushing them to change their allegiance.

He has a couple of Islander jersey's, santa is bringing him a devils jersey and he has been asking for a rangers jersey so he could rotate all 3 when he goes for his lessons which has been met with a strict no but after giving it much thought no kid should be forced to grow up an islander fan and if he wants a rangers jersey I will get him one
