I'm just tired of it. I am tired of the stupid plays in our own end. Nielsen throwing the puck in front of his own net with 3 minutes left is beyond dumb. It's the very first thing you learn in hockey. Throw it up the boards or behind your net.. never in front of your own net. They do stupid stuff in their own end constantly... won a face off on the PK and instead of hamering it down they threw it into their own end .. essentially served as a Dump and chase for other team. Bailey with his idiotic drop passes in his own end... I mean this is Basic stuff. Your first job is to clear your zone. ... to do that crap with a 2 goal lead and 3 minutes left is unforgiveable.

Then Grabner taking a shot at the open net from the other side of the red line.. Missing that results in an icing with a minute left is even more dumb. Take another stride and gain the redline.. very simple stuff. You make them chase and its another 15 seconds they would not have had to score that goal. It's constant stupidity.. The most basic crap in hockey. These are not rookies anymore. absurd!!

I just relented the other night and told my 5 yr old he could root for the rangers if he wanted to. I can't put him through the same misery I have endured for the last 20 plus years

This is what upsets me about these boards. Why the Rangers? Once again they seem to be the measuring stick for many of you guys. They stink!! 23rd out of 30 teams. They have spent to the limit every year.. and used to spend much more than everyone and never won jack poop. 1 cup in 70 years.. 30+ of them with only 6 teams. (the only reason they won the one is b/c their current GM traded his whole Edmonton team to NY when he was the Edmonton GM). Pick a team he can be proud of watching if not the Isles.... certainly not the Rags.

All valid points. This loss aint on Cappy. The basic things you are talking about should not have to even be thought of at this level...it should be second nature to these guys. You are taught these hockey basics at 7 years old. As much as I can't stand him, your points are exactly why this loss is squarely on the players and not Soy Capitan.

In Vukota's defense I think he offered the Rangers because they're the other local team, not because they're a successful franchise. They've achieved significantly less in their history than us with significantly more resources.

You know what else I am tired of.. .never having a game where we got all the calls. Just once I want to feel like we got away with one. Clutterbuck takes a dumb penalty for a high hit (correct call).. gets out of the box and gets murdered with a high hit in front of the net.. No call.

Bailey 2 break aways.. tripped and hooked on both.. no call.

JT tripped dangerously and crashes to the boards.. no call.

This team does ANYTHING and they get a penalty.. yet teams kill our skill guys and don't get calls. We dominated this game (for 57 minutes) and if we got a few of thos calls it would have been a different result.

FWIW, I hate the Rangers, but nobody with a straight face could argue the point that the Rangers are a far better run organization than the Isles are.

Yes change is needed but not via the trade route. No one wants our scrubs...they are scrubs for a reason. The only players other teams want are the young prospects and they will want to give up over the hill over paid veterans. (Anyone remember what we gave up for Trevor Linden?) Which will just put us back to square one.

The only choice is to fire the head coach. Is it the best choice? Who knows what the best choice is...I just have never been so disheartened by an Islanders team as this one. I can only imagine what the players felt while sitting in the dressing room after that complete and total meltdown.

I thought Bailey had a decent game last night. deHann doesn't look out of place either.

Enough with te Bailey "waking up" or "looking good" nonsense. He stinks. He's a skilled guy who can't put it together in games. He's Rob Schemp. He's in his sixth professional season.
