I know he's only been here for a few games, but I'd really like to see the Isles start working de Haan into the number one power play unit.

If it means I no longer have to see AMAC on the point any longer sign me up. That is soooooo hard to continually watch.

Yeah...that's sort of the motivation there. Hell I'd take Hickey on the pp over Amac...

It's funny how the masses have grown. This time last year there were about 3 of us complaining about Amac. Safe to say those numbers have grown. He's entering Bruno Gervais territory for me.

I miss the good ol' Die Bruno Die chants I used to start on the yahoo boards

Well as I pointed out, neither PA or Moulson are exactly having tremendous seasons.
- keaner17

I still think PA had good chemistry with JT though....in the end all the Vanek complaints could be fixed if we had a coach that had a brain.....just because Vanek and JT are elite type players it doesn't mean if it isn't working he doesn't move Vanek to the 2nd line....so what if Vanek may have come wanting to play with JT, its about the team.....they need to try a new line combo and I say throw Clutterbuck up there with his energy, he will be harder to contain because with JT Vanek is just floating around waiting for a pass.

I think Clutterbuck is way too selfish with the puck, and when he shoots, there's rarely a rebound. They are floaters from the bottom of the circles.

just so we're clear - THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS TEAM ARE THE DEFENSE, COACHING AND SECONDARY SCORING.

NOT VANEK

thank you.

Streaky PA...
PA Parenteau had 3 assists the other night...good thing too.
Prior to that his line looked like this
31 gp 9g 9 assists 18pts...

He now stands at 33gp 9g 12assists 21pts
over 82 games, that's 22 goals 22 assists...not bad..but not top line good, that's for sure.

- keaner17

This would mean a whole lot if PAP was even playing on the top line... but he's not

Funny though how everyone had good chemistry with JT..maybe, just maybe it's all about JT.

As for Vanek, that line is 2nd highest producing line in the NHL right now. That said, maybe it would make sense in order to create secondary scoring that we break them up and see what happens.

I think one dimension people miss is that Vanek is a true power forward. He's a guy who is very good at coming out of the corner with the puck and putting it in areas where linemates can get a scoring chance. Moulson lacked a decent first stride like Vanek and never seemed to be physically strong enough to battle through muscle. What Moulson did better than Vanek was deflections. Otherwise, Vanek is better in every facet of the game.
- keaner17

I think most people miss it because he so rarely acts and plays like a true power forward... he has played power forward for the Isles the same way Okposo played it the first 6 seasons on the Island (minus the falling down at least once every shift)

actually he is. Through most of the year their top line was Parenteau Statsny O'reilly. They recently broke it up and now the top line is
Parenteau Duchene Landeskog

*edit though I guess there's some form of debate as to whether Duchene's previous line would have been the top line, it was PA's who typically got the start.

Are you referring to St. PA?
- keaner17

How dare you.... he is referring to Moulson!

Moulson who yes had his faults but WORKED on the top line, was a commodity that was traded WITH other commodities for the same exact player as Moulson (just Prettier)
Moulson and Moulson's position were NOT the problem, But we traded away a liked player in the locker room, in the seats & on the scoreboard, PLUS 2 highly valued draft picks.. for a guy why does the exact same things as MM.. no better.. no worse.. but now has to see if he plays well with our franchise player (so far not so good) where MM played with him quite well (ohh and MM OFTEN drew penalties, while not taking many at all, something Vanek does the opposite) People want MM back not because they like him better or forget his faults but because the trade should never have been made in the first place... and if he was going to be shipped out.. let it be for a TRUE weakness on the team.. the D

PA, Boyes, Streit, Moulson.

none of these would have helped us, none of these were players we needed to hold onto, and all of them were sh!t defensively.

- Isles_since_6

But none of them cost us a first rounder and a second rounder when we really need to be using those things in REAL weaknesses.
