The talk about firing Carlyle is crazy talk.

He got a great performance in a short season last year. This year they are decimated down the middle. Hard to compete when you never win face offs in the offensive zone.

Never was a fan of of Brian Burke because of the Kessel deal. Still do not like the trade (but, I like Kessel as a player).

But, would Burke have sent Grabovski and MacArther away and signed Clarkson? Don't know the answer but those decisions do not look very good today.

He was like that the first year of his contract with the Leafs, then was terrible after he resigned.

He was replaced by the 1mil, one year deal with Raymond that did not include a NMC.

What do Caryle and Burke together have to do with this? Carlyle got a great start and we all knew we were crapping the bed towards the end of last season - we would have missed the playoffs if it was a full season.

Nonis making (some) dumb management moves doesn't mean Carlyle doesn't make dumb coaching moves.
